Thanks so much for checking in on me! They are still waking frequently and on a newborn feed schedule- every 2.5-3 hours. However, they recently started medicine for reflux and it appears to be working because they are sleeping a little but longer than previously. They are also sleeping more soundly, and not grunting. Hope this is the trick and we can all get some more rest! We have a GI appt on two weeks. I also ordered the book Healthy sleep habits, happy twins and will try my best to read and follow it. It takes us about am hour and a half to put them to sleep for bedtime and I end up nursing them so they will calm down- I am working on them laying in their crib and not being held to go to sleep during the day but it's not going so well!
Me (37) DH (39); PCOS changed to Unexplained, changed to DOR in 2012 (finally a correct diagnosis!);
Started TTC 2009 with RE after 6 months.
Clomid + Trigger x2;
IUI + Femara x1,
IUI + Follistim x2;
IVF #1 (MDL) February 2013- BFN.
IVF #2 (antagonist) May 2013, First BFP of my life.
Identical twin miracle BOYS (!!) headed our way- due date is technically 2/4/14 but c section is scheduled for 1/7!
The lay them down drowsy but awake hasn't been that successful for us (yet - maybe that will come!), but I did find the book to be very accurate for understanding their sleep needs and predicting emerging sleep patterns.
My girls still eat 2.5-3 hours during the day, but what did change was that their first night sleep has gradually gotten longer and longer. First, a 4 hour chunk, then sometimes a 6 hour chunk. Now at 4 months adjusted ( 6 months actual), we're getting a pretty consistent 6+ hour first chunk of sleep and their nap patterns are more consistent. The book definitely helped me realize what their natural patterns are, because I wasn't picking up the shift that happened requiring everything earlier in the day.
Now, all this just in time to transition them to their cribs and screw everything up!
Married 8/2008.

4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
PPROM at 31w, delivery at 32 weeks of two beautiful girls
You sound much better. My girls are 6 months and have just started to go down drowsy but awake in the past couple weeks. We tried it starting around 4 months with no luck but recently they just started going down easier. So don't despair if it doesn't work right away- they'll get it eventually. We're still having trouble with frequent wakings though
You sound much more confident and hopeful. Glad there's been some improvement!
