I developed Cholestasis with my last pregnancy at 35 weeks. Expecting again, is there any other moms that have had ICP and have went on with subsequent pregnancies with no issues?
I just thought I would respond because I am in a similar boat as you. I had cholestasis that was diagnosed at 36w6d with my first and I delivered the next day. I am currently 30 weeks and I have not developed it yet. I would say start talking with your doctor early about it. My OB has been wonderful about it. I feel a little over paranoid about it this time, so every time I have felt even just a little extra itchy on my hands or feet she has said she will send me for a blood draw to check levels just to be sure. She also went ahead and checked my levels with my glucose test just to help put me at ease. Most likely we will probably start doing blood draws at 34 weeks and do them every week (with my weekly appointments) just to keep an eye on things. But so far everything is going well.
I will let you know how it goes. I think the thing that has helped me is knowing what the signs are and what to look for - it makes me feel much more prepared and able to advocate for myself. With my first pregnancy I mentioned the itching a few times before it was really taken seriously and then I ended up delivering the next day. You are your own best advocate!
