1. How many weeks along are you?
2. Any medical updates?
3. How are you feeling lately?
4. QOTW: is there anything different that you want to do this time in terms of birth plan or any aspect of your hospital stay (ie keeping LO in the room, visitors etc)? Will DH/SO stay with you while you are in the hospital?
Re: **2IF Grad Check-In**
1. 13w4d
2. Next appt is next Monday.
3. The nausea has come back full force. I'm weaning from the progesterone, so I know it's not the progesterone anymore. I think it's just the baby
It's just so weird because with DD, I was never this nauseous and what little nausea I had stopped around 10 weeks.
4. I am having a repeat C-section. My hospital doesn't really take the babies into the nursery as a policy, so the baby will be with us. DH and I are going to play it by ear on how many nights he is staying with me. I would like to stick to visitors not coming between certain hours of the day, but I also really love seeing my friends and family. It's hard. With DD I got zero rest in the hospital and it set us up for disaster. I think we will definitely be protecting my sleep more this time. Even if that means hurting feelings.
2. Have an OB appointment tomorrow, can't wait! It feels like it has been so long since my last one!
3. Feeling good, except I have a bad headache today and trying to hold off in taking Tylenol since I took it so much last week (had a low grade fever for 5 days straight but thankfully am over that!)
4. QOTW: last time, only DH was with me while I was in labor and it worked great. One thing I would change is that I will try not to push the button on the epidural so much to get extra medicine. I had such a hard time afterwards with uncontrollable shaking and other effects of the medicine. Can't decide if DH will stay with me while in the hospital (it's the reason I made this a question - I wanted to hear what everyone else is thinking lol!)
2. Any medical updates? Weekly app't on Wed. So far no signs of Pre-E. If I make it to the 24th, I will exceed my pregnancy with DS.
4. QOTW: is there anything different that you want to do this time in terms of birth plan or any aspect of your hospital stay (ie keeping LO in the room, visitors etc)? Will DH/SO stay with you while you are in the hospital? DS will be going to ILs the night before RCS. DH will stay with me during the day. I will have him go home at night. Last time, he spent Thurs (at 1 AM)-Sat with me until they decided to induce and then emergency CS.
1. How many weeks along are you?
12w4d
2. Any medical updates?
Nope, nothing new really. My next appointment isn't for a couple of weeks.
3. How are you feeling lately?
Pretty good. No real complaints. We told our parents yesterday, so we're pretty much out in the open now. We're not "facebook official" but I doubt we'll even make a facebook announcement.
4. QOTW: is there anything different that you want to do this time in terms of birth plan or any aspect of your hospital stay (ie keeping LO in the room, visitors etc)? Will DH/SO stay with you while you are in the hospital?
DS stayed with us in the whole time, and we would like to do the same for the next one. The main thing I would like to do differently is a weaker epidural. I waited until an 8 before getting the epi only to have the pushing process take two hours, I think largely because I couldn't feel a thing. If I could have a lighter version this time around, I might be able to push more productively. I don't know that DH will stay with me this time. He stayed the first night with DS and slept horribly, so I sent him home the next night. As much as I think he should suck it up and deal with it, I don't want to deal with the complaints of how much his back and neck hurt after sleeping on the pull out cot at the hospital. If only I could loan him the feeling of swollen, stitched up lady bits, he might not notice a sore back and stiff neck.
October 2011 - DS (7)
July 2014 - Stillborn DD (24 weeks)
August 2015 - DD (3)
April 2018 - 5 week loss
Passing the time at the beach until my 9w appt and u/s next Wednesday. I'm almost as anxious for that one as the first one. Just need to relax! I was told last week that my RE only recommends progesterone supps until 8wks for IUIs, so I'm both looking forward to stopping and a little nervous.
QOTW: I had an epidural for both DDs, and will again. I will say that DD2 came MUCH faster - 1 push, 2 push, BABY! DH will likely stay at the hospital with me. I'm assuming it'll just be 1 night before discharging if all goes well.
1. 37 weeks 4 days
2. I'm dilated about 1 cm and "very soft" according to my ob, so she said it won't take long...which I'm hoping is true because I'm very uncomfortable.
3. I'm tired and achy and seem to have picked up a cold. Still working half days until Thursday which means I made it to easter vacation without going on on maternity leave. Score! Mentally I'm feeling pretty freaked out that baby is coming so soon. It's so surreal!
4. The only thing I think I'll do differently is room in with baby. I had a really long and difficult labor with DD so she stayed in the nursery at night except for feedings. It's something I regret but at the time I was so delirious. I plan on another epidural and I'm praying for less pushing. I'm jealous of those women who push twice and baby comes out.
TTC #1 4/2009 - DD 2/5/10
TTC #2 since October 2011
2IF issues
QOTW: The main difference is that the first time around, I was married to my ex-husband and he was my birth coach. Long story, but we got divorced for a reason! This time, my wonderful and loving DH will be there, as well as my mom. I am excited to be surrounded by supportive, loving people. I might go for the epidural a little sooner than I did the first time. I don't want a rigid birth plan because it would upset me if things turned out differently. So I am just going with the flow like last time!
