They're going to schedule you another appointment for next week in case you don't have the baby. ;-) that's what happened to me last Monday. I'm heading in today for my 2 days past my due date appt. They are going to do a biophysical ultrasound to make sure baby is still doing okay. Good luck though, I hope you go by your due date!
Some women think it really hurts and some say it's just mildly uncomfortable. I think it probably depends on a lot of hit hints, including the position and status of your cervix. They basically use ear fingers to lift your membranes away from your uterus and stretch your cervix a bit. It may or may not help start labor.
Mama to a little girl born July 2011 and a little boy born April 2014!
I had my membranes stripped with my first and it was incredibly painful and made me really queasy-it also did not induce labor like we had hoped. I hear its different for different women.
I had my membranes stripped with my 2nd, and he was born 24 hours later. But, if course, that could've been because of a bunch of things. It was definitely uncomfortable! Still going to request it this time around, just in case!!
Re: Last appointment is on Wednesday (hopefully.) What do they do?
