Scheduled C-Section

So I have a question for everyone out there that has had a scheduled c-section. I just found out that I might be pregnant with baby number two which means he/she would be due in December. My daughter (almost three) was born on her due date by c-section because I wasn't dilating and because of the way my scar healed I know if I am pregnant I'll have to have another. How far in advance are c-sections usually scheduled? What kind of planning goes into them?

Mine was scheduled around 28 week appointment for a 39 week date. No real planning between myself and doc besides that.

My doctor schedules them after 32 weeks for 39 weeks. Once it was scheduled the hospital sent a letter with what time to arrive and when to stop eating. I also had to go for pre op testing 2 days before.

My doctor said at 30 wks they will schedule mine.

My doc didn't schedule mine until 34 weeks. He just told me a date.

DD#1 ended up being a csection so we knew from the get go with DD#2 csection. Doc knew what we wanted at 8 week appt, it was just a matter of waiting to get closer to be put on the schedule. We knew around 39 weeks- that's it, until the 34 week appt when he told me date and time.

My OB scheduled DD's c/s a month before she was due. They were pushing for 39 weeks but I asked to schedule it at 40 instead and they were fine with it.
