DD keeps gagging herself

Whenever we put DD in her highchair to eat her fingers go straight for the back of her throat. It never fails she spends most of her time gagging herself! We of course remove her fingers and tell her no but it doesnt seem to be working. Any suggestions? Any one elses kiddos doing it too?

Re: DD keeps gagging herself

  • When DS was younger he constantly did that.  Now that he's older he doesn't do it as often.  He still tries to cram too much food in his mouth so we have to watch out for that.

  • Our DD did this for a couple weeks and turns out she was cutting multiple molars. After they popped through she stopped. Hope that's all it is.

Ditto. Sure sign of molars at this age.
  • DD is going on 13months and only has 4 teeth. i guess i never thought to check her molars this early! Its not that she gags on her food or there is too much in there this is with an empty mouth she just thinks her entire little hand is going to fit in there! I will definately be checking for molars tonight! thank you all!!!!
  • Our DS went through that phase too. We ignored it and he stopped.

Exactly this! Since she started teething around 4.5-5 months she will do this off and on when new teeth are coming in.
