How Was Everybody's Weekend?

This past weekend made coming to work this morning that much harder. Saturday, I took LO to see Rio 2 (adorable movie) and he didn't do too bad! Popcorn and water kept him quiet for the most part. Yesterday, we spent our day at Busch Gardens and LO had a ball!! The Sesame Street show is really something! How was everyone else's weekend?

  • Fabulous, and we didn't do anything beyond a visit to the bookstore. DD has been going through a very long, very strong mommy phase where she would cry when she saw DH. This weekend, she finally shifted so Daddy got tons of hugs and kisses and snuggles. Also, she let him carry her in stores, thank God! I'm about 4 weeks away from delivery and was really starting to stress about not being able to carry her anymore and WTH I was going to do with her and a newborn.

Great!  My parents took the kids for a sleepover on Saturday and it was awesome.  Both kids did great and DH and I enjoyed having time to relax and not have to worry about feeding, baths, bedtimes, etc.

  • Busy and fun! DS is playing tball for the first time and he had opening day parade (so cute) saturday and first game yesterday. He was so proud and had so much fun with his buddies. DD just wanted to sit on the bench with the boys! Chatted up some new parents and they seem nice too. Funny how it's a bit awkward at first even as adults.

  • It was alright.  We went shopping saturday morning, then took a walk through a local forest in the afternoon.  Sunday morning we had a playdate, Sunday afternoon we went to the park, then dinner out.

That should've made for an awesome weekend, but DD is cutting her molars, so she has an eczema flare up and didn't sleep (so none of us slept), and she was whiny.as.hell.  Dude she whined ALL WEEKEND.  And I feel really bad for her, but omg I have no patience for whining.

  • Honestly, I'm pretty happy to be sitting here in my quiet office drinking a cup of coffee and bumping!

Both kids are very slightly sick (stuffy noses) so are not sleeping well and DS is super whiny. My dog had a medical procedure Friday and I've been worried about her plus need to give her special food and medicine a few times a day. We took both kids to my IL's for lunch at 11 on Saturday and finally sat down to eat at 3!! DH just got back from travel and was in a terrible mood so we ended up arguing about nothing on Saturday night after the kids went to sleep when we should have been enjoying an at-home date night. And two guys showed up at 8:00 this morning to start ripping out my kitchen cabinets but I only found out after they started that my FIL (who is a contractor) didn't realize we wanted to also replace a pretty big section of shelving along one wall. So now I don't know if it's going to cost more than we thought or when the job will be done.

Totally all first world problems but still made for a stressful weekend.

  • We had a great weekend, except for my vent on the other post.

We went to a church Easter egg hunt Saturday.  DS had a blast! Then spent the afternoon hanging out outside with family.  Sunday, went to church, ate lunch, ran a couple of errands and then went to parent's house for dinner/birthday celebration for DH.  Then snuggle time/reading before the busy week!

I love that Spring is here...our weekends have been packed with fun stuff :)

  • I was stressed out all weekend. DH got a job last minute, and it was a great opportunity, so I spent all weekend trying to find a sitter for the girls. I wanted to rip my darn hair out. My friend is watching them for now until I can find someone who can do it out of our home. Like a nanny type situation. It seems as though I am having no luck. :( I did sneak in a lunch with my DH and girls at this awesome Indian restaurant.
