Progesterone levels

Went last week for my 7DPO Progesterone level check and just got a phone call that my levels were extremely low (0.8) meaning no ovulation.  This was on 50mg of Clomid, Estrogen and Ovidrel trigger shot.  Has anyone experienced this?  Dr says she's going to up my Clomid to 100mg next cycle.   Ugh!  It's so frustrating.

Re: Progesterone levels

  • No experience with this one but (hugs) have they mentioned progesterone supplementation for next round?

  • first pregnancy: My progestrone level was low & I started taking it on cd 14- post ovulation. I did 2 rounds of clomid with ovidrel shot & had iui's with no luck. My 3rd round was femara with no iui's & I got pregnant. I stayed on the progestrone for the first 3 months of pregnancy.

I am currently awaiting my period now (medically induced), taking femara cd 3-7 & starting progestrone cd 14- no shot this cycle. We have been trying for 6 months on our own, but my cycle keeps getting longer & longer (same pattern as always if not on the pill). I am currently on cd 50, but like i said, i took med to bring it on, still waiting though...
  • Well what made you think you Oed if you were going in for 7DPO testing? Did you just do OPKs? Honestly, this is why monitoring is SO important when you're on Clomid, because you probably just geared up to O, and didn't O, it happens.

If you can't be monitored, which is just nuts, because if they aren't doing regular U/S there's no way to know if the shit is working at all, or working and thinning out your lining so much it'd be impossible for implantation to occur anyway- at the very least you should be CHARTING to confirm O after a + OPK.

Sorry, I agree, this is super frustrating. I would ask your Dr to step their game up, so you're not doing pointless Clomid cycles.

    Good luck.

  • Thanks for the info ladies.

Mrs Castillo and TripMomma, I had 3 ultrasounds during this past cycle.  On the 3rd Ultrasound they confirmed one mature follicle which is why I did the Ovidrel injection.  Is it routine at other facilities to have an ultrasound to make sure you ovulated?
  • From what I get from all of this, at an RE's office the monitoring is pretty intense... at just an OBGYN, less monitoring.... which most likely results with no u/s, just lab work.
