  • 1. Name (real or siggy): Vanessa

    2. # of LOs: 1

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both?
I have to be activity focused because I LOVE me some food and I don't want to give up doing something I enjoy - and am so good at!

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier?
Remembering to work out. Which I'm not always as good at as I should be. Having a goal in mind (like training for something) helps.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:
I'm on WW and am going to add Pilates to my workout routine.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?
I'm back at my goal weight but I am in serious, serious need of some toning. I'm not even sure I remember what it feels like to use my abs... :-/

  • Name (real or siggy):
    Heather

    2. # of LOs:
    Four

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both?
I would like to be both, but usually I'm more eating focused so my goal will be to incorporate more physical activity.

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier?
I have never been able to achieve weight loss goals in a healthy manner. I have struggled with anorexia for 19 years. Starving myself and an extreme addiction to laxatives. I'm trying so hard to do things the right way this time because i really want to continue breast feeding, and my disorder has always wound up preventing me from doing that. I'm doing OK so far but I'm really starting to hate my PP body.:(

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:
My goals for This week are to continue going for walks with my kids, I plan to start doing sit ups, push ups, and squats, just at my house this week. I need to focus on incorporating healthy fats into my diet, and to not try to eat everything fat free.
    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?
I try not to weigh myself because if I do that's when the extreme obsession takes over. I can just tell by the way my clothes fit. I do fit into my pre preg jeans, but they are a little tight because of the "fat pocket" that hangs over my c section scar. I'm hoping to be able to tone that up, and to not fall back into old habits. I'm excited for this weekly check in.
  • 1. Name (real or siggy): Niki

    2. # of LOs: 3 - a 3 yo and 8 wk twins

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both?
Primarily activity focused but I really need to improve my diet. One step at a time.

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier?
I do better if I have classes to go to. I'm hoping to get to some yoga and Pilates classes at the community center.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:
I want to walk 4 days for 30 minutes.
I also want to use myfitnesspal to keep a food log and to hopefully help myself be more aware of how much I'm eating so I can make better choices.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?
Yes and no. I want to make healthier choices mostly to feel good. I would like to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I'm not focused on that too much right now. I gained 45 lbs and have 20 left to lose.

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both?
    Both.

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier?
    Low carb diet w/interval training.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:
I've removed all empty carbs and refined sugars. I meal prepped tonight and I have chicken and veggies for lunch all week. I try and eat granola or oatmeal in the morning because it helps my supply.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?
Yes, 35+ lbs. I have 15 lbs to get to my pre BFP weight, but I'm trying to get to my pre-DH weight. I'm ashamed of myself for doing it, but I kind of gave up on myself after I received my infertility diagnosis 3 years ago. Now it's time to get healthier.

  • 1. Name (real or siggy):
    Sophie

    2. # of LOs:
    Just my little boy

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both?
Mostly eating, but a little active

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier?
Keeping busy. What hurts me are the long summers I have, getting bored sitting around the house, thinking about food.
The skinniest I've been was when I was suffering badly with depression. I lost 60lb very, very quickly by simply not eating. It was so unhealthy and did some long term damage. I started anti depressants and immediately gained a ton of weight. Now I want to be that size again, but I want to achieve it in a healthy way, and keep my hair and finger nails this time.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:
To walk the entire neighborhood with LO at least 5 times this week and work on portion control.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?
I have a long term goal of 60lb. A short term goal of 10lb.

Only Eating focused until Thursday when I'll be cleared for exercise at my 6 week pp appt

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier?

WW, low carb diet/ eating habits and training for a sprint triathlon

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:

My eating goals are to eat low carb meals with foods that are under 10 net carbs.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?

Yes. Ultimately I'd like to lose 41 pounds. I've set up mini goals for the year. My first mini goal is to lose 20 lbs by the end of summer.

  • 1. Name (real or siggy): April

    2. # of LOs: 3 (though my 16yo & 9yo are hardly little, the 13 day old is :) )

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both? Starting out with an eating focus. I'd like to tackle small steps one at a time to build on for a healthier lifestyle.

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier? Journaling and low carb

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week: This week I'd like to just be able to drink 64oz of water each day and remember to take my prenatal vitamin daily. Ideally I'd like to go for a walk a few times this week but since I'm still pretty sore I'm not sure that's going to happen yet.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal? Yes. I'd like to get back to my pre-pregnancies weight which is about 100lbs, but I have mini goals in between with the first one being pre-this-preg weight by my 6wk visit (which gives me 4wks).
  • 1. Name (real or siggy):
    Mati

    2. # of LOs:

    - Well I have 1 big one (13yr old) & 1 LO

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both?

    - I'm wanting to be both

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier?

    - Honestly creating daily meal plans based around counting calories & exercising at least 4 times a week has worked for me in the past. However with breastfeeding & caring for a 6 week old as well as DD & DH counting calories has been the furthest thing from my mind.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:

    - Starting tomorrow my plan is to eat 6 small nutritionally balanced meals a day & only drink water during the week. I'm going to start the activity out light this week with 30 minute morning walks with LO & then 30 minute evening walks with the family. I'm hoping to do this at least 5 times this week.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?

    - I'm actually back down to pre-pregnancy weight but wouldn't mind being 10 lbs. lighter. More than anything I want my muscle tone & flat stomach back. My thighs & butt are so flabby! I've been an athlete my entire life so for my bottom half to be in the shape it's in currently has me slightly depressed.
  • 1. Name (real or siggy): Elizabeth

    2. # of 3

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both? Currently eating until I am released to exercise again. (I don't eat bad now)

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier? Running and light weight training and healthy diet.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week: this week I am going to take brisk walks with colton while my big boys are in school. I am aiming for 5x this week.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal? Just want to be where I was pp, I was happy and healthy there. I am aiming for a size not a number since muscle weighs more! So about 2 sizes to drop.
  • 1. Name (real or siggy): Rachel

    2. # of LOs: 1

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both? Both

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier? I used to dance ballet professionally so I've always been really active so exercising 5-6 times a week.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:
    - Working on my sweet tooth and snacking. I've gotten pretty bad the last few weeks.
    - I start teaching yoga this week and Pilates next week so that'll be great for toning. Gym at least one other time each week plus 2-3 walks with my dogs is my goal.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?
My main goal is just to fit in pre-pregnancy jeans but I have about 3 sizes to go for that to happen. But I'm also a number person so seeing my weight is helpful. I gained 30 lbs and have lost about 12.

  • 1- Elizabeth
    2- one LO
3- focused both on activity and food
4- in the past I would say being obsessive with the gym and calorie restriction ( but not in a healthy way)
5- this week will be my second week in weight watchers so continue working with that :) I'll be released by my oB Tuesday for the gym so I'll try and go Wednesday and maybe Thursday. LO will go to the daycare there so she has to be cooperative. I'm waiting on an elliptical to be delivered so I can at least do my cardio at home. I plan to do 45 min 5-6 times a week once it gets here. I'm also considering

  • 6- both. When I started dating my
husband I was 130- then a couple months into it I developed PCOS and gained 30-50 pounds extremely fast. Since then diet and gym haven't seemed to help and I get frustrated and quit. So I'm looking to try and changed lifestyle and hOPEy body " reset" with the pregnancy.
  • 1. Name (real or siggy): L

    2. # of LOs: one, Emma

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both?
Both but I tend to lean toward activity focused.

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier?
Joining group activities like softball, basketball and tennis leagues. It's good accountability. I'll also try to get back to spin classes. I'm a little worried about pressure in the seat area if ya know what I mean.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:
I'm not cleared for working out yet. Right now I'm trying to eat regularly and eat enough. My appetite has been poor since giving birth.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?
Nope. I'd like to tone up.

  • 1. Name (real or siggy): jbelle

    2. # of LOs: One.

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both? I want to focus on both.

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier? Eating smart and lifting heavy weights.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week: I haven't been released to exercise yet, so enjoying any nice weather we get via walks, eating more fruits and veggies, and prioritizing sleep/rest when I can get it!

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal? Well, I lost all my pregnancy weight almost immediately, which felt great in theory, until I tried on my jeans! Nothing fits and with the way I'm eating--and what I'm eating (hello Blizzards!)--I'm not going to be able to maintain my current weight! Nursing is making me ravenous!! So, I'm not sure what I would like my weight to be at, but either way, I definitely need to gain muscle mass!

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both? Activity. I like food too much.

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier? Excersing regularly and cutting out pop

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week: I'd like to get a couple walks in if the weather cooperates. Still not released to w/o until the 30th

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal? I'd love to lose 25-30 lbs. but I mainly need to tone up and slim down a bit for my sisters wedding this summer.

    2. # of LOs:1

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both? Ultimately both, but more good since I'm only 3 weeks pp

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier? Having to be accountable to a group! Also eating the foods I want in smaller portions. I love food so much that cutting out my favorites never works well for me.

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:
I will start the day with a healthy breakfast and go for a walk 5 days this week.

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal? I really want to fit back into my jeans. I don't care about the weight so much as I do care more about my size. Before I got pregnant I was in the best shape I has ever been in. I'm not sure my body will ever be that small again, but I'd at least like to not have to rebuild my entire wardrobe.

  • Thank your for this! Step one on my road back to getting in shape is checking in here.

    1. Name (real or siggy): Jess

    2. # of LOs: 5, ages 18, 15, 13, 11, and 5 weeks

    3. Are you activity focused, eating focused or both? Both, although I don't know how any dietary changes will affect my milk supply so I am going to take a cautious approach. Diet tends to be way more effective for me than exercise. I use diet to lose weight and exercise to feel good.

    4. What has worked in the past for you to be healthier? Until I got my BFP, I ran a fitness boot camp and was (still am) a triathlon coach, so I have to stay in shape. For diet, I prefer either ketogenic, low carb, or paleo. They all work well for me but paleo is the only one that I don't think has the potential to affect milk supply. It's also the hardest, though. Activity wise, I do best with shorter, more intense efforts rather than long endurance stuff. The best shape I was ever in was a few years ago when I was doing kettlebells a few times per week with strict paleo eating. I look better on that kind of regimen than being in marathon or Ironman shape and it takes a lot less time!

    5. Share your activity and/or eating goals you've set for yourself this week:
OK, baby steps. Calling a new gym that just opened that has a super slow resistance training protocol. Been interested in trying this for years but there wasn't a gym around here that did it. Also, gulp, I am going to weight myself this week and find out how far I have to go. I haven't weighed myself since about 20 weeks into my pg because I gain a ton of weight when pregnant and it was stressing me out. I am guessing I will have 30-40 pounds to lose still!!

    6. Are you making healthier choices for a number on the scale? If so, how much do you need to lose to reach that goal?
I mostly go by how my clothes feel, but I will be weighing myself this week.
