I am STILL feeding my 4 month old every 3 hours. We feed him 6 oz of water with 2 scoops of formula to make it 7ounces every three hours. What's going on???
Our almost 5 month old still eats every 2 1/2-3 hours. It's completely normal. And exactly what PP have said, you should be giving 3 scoops for 6 oz. I hope you haven't been doing 2 scoops to 6 oz. for 4 months.
Even at 7 months - when we switched DD1 to formula and introduced solids- she ate every three hours during the day. She did this until she was a little over a year. Feedings could be extended to four hours at this time. There are still days she can't last more than three hours between meals and she's 2 and 1/2.
The Bump Newsletter I received in my email said they (4 month olds) should only be having 5-6 feedings a day. If I'm still feeding every 3 hours, that is 8 feedings a day. Am I doing my math right? lol

Seriously? I hope you are effing kidding. Feed your kid when he's hungry. How would you like it if you were only given breakfast, lunch, and dinner with nothing in between? If you are hungry, too effing bad, because breakfast, lunch, and dinner are the "normal" times for adults to eat. Seriously, this isn't a difficult concept.

The newsletter probably said something like your baby may only eat 5-6 times a day. Don't take any newsletter from any site as gospel. Go by your pediatrician's recommendations and your own gut feeling.
And if you go by what I said above, you shouldn't listen to any of us internetz strangers either.
Same here, my son is almost 4 months old and he eats 6 oz every 3 hours, sometimes 3.5-4. At night it's usually 1-2 bottles since he's still not sleeping consistently throughout the night.
DS1 ate every 3 hours during the day for years and he is 5. Even with solid foods breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack dinner. DS2 eats every 3 hours with his last bottle around 6/7pm but sleeps until 5:30/6am. Every once in awhile he may wake up at 2/3am or want his paci.
my DD has 6 oz every 3 hours during the day but she STTN. What is yours sleeping? I'm fine with her eating every 3. In fact i wouldnt want her to space it more as then I don't think she would be getting enough food during day.
Re: Still Bottle Feeding every 3 hours
I'd say if he is healthy and happy don't worry. Feed him as he wants it.
