How do your count your baby's age? LO will be four weeks on Wednesday, so is she a month old on Wednesday, or do I wait until the 19th to consider her a month old? If going by the date, how do I then count her 5th week and so on?

I've always been confused by this too. I go by the date instead of the number of weeks. Not every month has 4 weeks, so 4 weeks isn't technically a month. I think now that DD has hit the one month mark, I'll stop going by weeks and just round up or down to the month.

LO was born on a Thursday. So every Thursday I count as a new week.

It was the 27th of February, so he gets a month older on every 27th.

I go by the date, a month is generally 30 days and 4 wks is only 28 days. So I just said she was 1 mo. Old on 4/9.

This is exactly what I do too. My Bump ticker is all sorts of wrong.

If you count 4 weeks old as one month, 8 weeks as 2 months, and so on, your baby will turn 12 months old before turning 1 year old.

I agree with @Laura8388. After 12 weeks, I'm just going to round up or down or say 3.5 months if it's been two-ish weeks.

ETA: Although, now I'm really confused because my ticker says J is one month, two weeks and three days old. He will be seven weeks exactly tomorrow. He was one month on the 25th, and that was not two weeks and three days ago. Weird.

Exactly this. There's 52 weeks in a year. So if you considered every 4 weeks a new month, your baby would be 13 months on his/her 1st birthday.

I never know how to answer this since they were born 10 w early! Right now I say "15 weeks actual, 6w corrected" @nblondheim what do you say? Do you explain the whole thing every time or just say "3 months" and call it a day?
