Anyone doing a baby dedication through their church within the first month?

My inlaws will be here and if DS arrives somewhat on time, he would be 2-3 weeks old. Just curious if that's standard to wait longer? Thank you!

  • welllllll...  kiddo was about  2 1/2 years old when we dedicated him :)

we'll likely do a dedication around 3-6 months old with tessa.

  • Our baby dedication is on Mother's Day, but I still have 2 weeks until my EDD, so I don't think it's happening this year as if she's on time she'll be less than 2 weeks old at that point. Probably next year

  • I'm due 4/27 and have booked our baby's baptism for 6/8. It is held on the second Sunday of each month, but I wanted to get in before it got too hot for an outdoor party afterwards.

  • I think it depends on what you mean by baby dedication? We have baby dedication and it has nothing to do with baptism.
If you're comfortable taking your baby to church at that age, I don't see an issue with it. There are newborns-toddlers being dedicated all the time, I don't think there is a standard age.
  • Our family baptism gown fits about a 3 month old, so that's when we do it.
