Do not do it. You can't unsee that! I was bothered by a c-section because it's surgery but then I read up on it, in depth and saw a documentary video and I am never going to be the same. Wow. They really don't tell you everything at the Drs office. Omg, I am not looking forward to July. I wish I had a choice.
Nope - my insides belong on the inside. No desire to see them being moved around. Although I will say this would be pretty cool to see on someone else, but perhaps I will wait until I am done having children!
Ignorance is bliss...Had a CSection the first time around and looking forward to my second. I have no desire whatsoever to know what they are doing to me while they are doing it. I think we're all happier that way.
Yep, I agree ignorance is bliss. I have no idea what a c section looks like during the process, and I do not care to. I was just happy to get my baby at the end of it.
DH and i went to a surprise party a few weeks ago and he saw a friend who he hadn't seen in a while.. the friend had a baby and we were talking about all that stuff and he whips out his phone and hes like do you wanna see some pics? of course i want to see cute squishy baby pics!
uhm no.
not cute squishy baby pics.. C SECTION PICTURES... full on, behind the curtain action.. i feel like i basically helped deliver the baby after seeing those.
Oddly I feel the opposite. Seeing vaginas stretched to the max and a baby coming out is more terrifying than being pulled from the stomach. I watched some natural videos and felt like I needed some witch hazel pads after.
Yeah I wouldn't want to see pics of any surgical procedure I might be having. Vaginal birth stuff can be freaky too, especially the swollen red aftermath. It's best just not to think about it.

I saw one in action for a few seconds on Business of Being Born. Had to look away. I thought seeing vaginal births was gross but that was nothing compared to a cut open stomach!
My vaginal birth (the only one I will ever have ( ) didn't leave me a mess down there at all. I wasn't as swollen as I thought, no tears, or lacerations and I was giving myself a shower a 30 mins later after breastfeeding and ordering supper. There's something about taking the uterus out to stitch it and make sure it's ok and then putting it back in that's disturbing. It's one thing to be cut open but to be out and then back in, omg, oh and I verified all the info with the Drs and they said there's a reason ignorance is bliss and we tell you not to google. This will be my 3rd c-section and hopefully my first non emergency one. I keep telling myself that it's not real.
My sister had a csection at a teaching hospital and allowed students to be present. She said the doctor explained everything as he was doing it. She said hearing him say things like "this is the bladder we're going to move it over here" was a little unnerving.
Ugh, I could never. I had a full blown anxiety attack on the table WITHOUT knowing what was going on. My hubby watched the whole thing. He's so tall that he could see over the curtain no matter what they did. He found it very interesting. I asked him not to share details.
If your sqimish do not read. Ok so my second c section I already knew what I was in for. I remember it it like it was yesturday. They numbed me up. Rolled me to the surgery room put the curtain up an I was officially having my baby girl. As I lay there anxiously awaitng to meet my daughter for the first time I look over my right shoulder an I could see my reflection through a glass cabinet the surgical team had behind them. I SEEN EVERYTHING. I wanted to look away but I couldn't. All I could really see was a lot of blood an fat tissue, then next thing you know my ribs felt as someone deflated them an out slides my baby. So I basically witnessed my own c-section which to my astonishment was quit fascinating. An that's a story I don't tell that often, but I'll save it when my daughter has children of her own. If she lets me that is. :-SS
I watched a csection in high school on 'take your daughter to work' day
I went with my uncle, who's a gp and he hooked me up with an ob doc
they pulled a chair up close so I could watch - shocking!
I think that's why I have such a fear of C/S now dh suggested maybe I should have one this time cause baby is measuring big - I said no way! as a last resort sure, but I want to try hard to avoid that!!

That's how my c/s was too. I could hear my doctor explaining about how she was taking my uterus out. It definitely freaked me out.

I'm with @cakebatter27 too - I definitely don't want to see my own c-section but watching a real vaginal birth made me want to die, it was horrifying. So I will pretend I saw neither and go on about my business.
Terrible idea. I saw a c-section in nursing school and was traumatized. Although, I've seen a vaginal delivery as well and I was traumatized by that so this whole birthing thing should be interesting come July.
I started bawling when my doctor told me I needed a c/s. I'm pretty sure they slipped something into my IV to chill me the fuck out, because I was sort of weirdly zen during the actual surgery. I think medical stuff is really interesting and I wouldn't mind watching a c/s, but it's different when it is my own body cut open on the table.

When my friend had her son two years ago, her husband recorded her C-section. I voluntarily watched the video while I was pregnant with DS. It was a little gross, but I guess I'm not too squeamish. It didn't bother me at all. I'd probably watch a video of my own if I had one, although I wouldn't want my DH to record anything.

Yep, after the baby is born they lift it out of your body cavity to stitch it up and everything, then put it back in.
