I'm having a baby! (maelic) UPDATE: Elena is here!!

So I avoided induction by the skin of my teeth, it was set for tomorrow morning at 9:30 and I started laboring yesterday afternoon. Prodromal labor for 20-ish hours, went to the hospital at noon and was at 2cm. Huge disappointment but the nurses had me walk around for a couple of hours and I ended up a 4 and 90% effaced. Never have I been as proud of my cervix as I was today.

So they admitted me and I got a fabulous, fabulous epidural and now I get to wait until I meet my little team green sprout.

Fingers crossed, but I might be a mom before the day is over! I should be napping because I haven't slept a wink in two days at this point but the adrenalin is keeping me up. :)

UPDATE:

Elena Ida was born at 2:59am on April 14th. She is a chunky monkey and did mom no favors during delivery: 27 minutes of pushing ended in 9 lbs 8 oz of pure baby rolls and she came out with her hand by her face so I definitely feel like I got run over by a freight train. Full head of dark hair and blue eyes like her daddy, hopefully they stick around! She pooped all over me as soon as they handed her over and I didn't care one bit, way to go motherhood!!

She's passed her blood sugar tests with flying colors and we're working on breast feeding since she has a bit of a tongue tie which makes her frustrating to latch and excruciating to nurse. She's eating like a champ regardless. :)

Hopefully they'll let us go home today but I lost a lot of blood and have had low BP issues since I started laboring so we'll see. It would sure be nice to sleep in my own bed and cuddle my beautiful baby girl!
