Annoyed and vent

So DS 5 and DD 3 were watching Alvin and the Chipmunks on the TV tonight. We have a dish and it was on the TOON channel. As soon as the movie ends the next movie comes on as I am walking to turn the TV off and tell them it is bedtime the next movie comes on. It starts out with a girl climaxing then the camera pans down to a man lifting his head from between her legs and her saying mom was right nice guys really do eat the best pussy. This took all of about 30sec.

I turned it off as quickly as I could and got them to bed. I couldn't believe what I saw so I checked the station again and yep it was the kids toon channel and they had the movie listed as PG8. The rating seemed way off for me so I looked it up and the motion picture rating for it is this Rated R for crude and sexual content, pervasive language, drug material and some violence. The movie is from 2011 and called The Sitter.

Again no real point more of vent and a how and the heck can they screw that up.

Just from recalling the previews of that movie, I could tell it is extremely inappropriate for children and even preteens. That is awful that they would be showing that on a kids channel and I would absolutely complain.

I'm not justifying the cable company's actions but it's a good learning opportunity for your kiddos Teach them what to do in those situations where they see something they shouldn't. Teach them that they should shut off the T.V. and tell you immediately. I know they may not have known it was inappropriate but it's a good lesson for them to learn.

I was watching Kid Snippets on YouTube with my students to kill 3 minutes and at the end of the video some naked people on bikes came up at the end as one of their ads. You can preview the hell out of those things and you never know what's going to come up at the end. I'm not saying it's right. I'm not saying it's okay. But I am saying it's a good teaching/learning opportunity.

I hope they give you some free T.V. out of this. It is unacceptable that they showed that movie on a CARTOON network.

Not acceptable. We made the decision not to have cable\satellite in our home, and these types of things reinforce that it was the best decision for us. I hope the company takes your email seriously.

huzzahuzza I think you are right about this being a good learning experience. I know when I was little probably around 8 or 9 I remember my mom telling me almost every time we put a new movie in If this movie changes from cartoon to real people or anything that doesn't look right comes up turn it off and come get me. Sometimes we rented movies or bought them at sales and back then I guess people would record 'things' over kids movies.

I have seen the sitter, that is not a good movie for little ones. I hope the network does something for you.

@huzzahuzza I agree. My son does know this from the times I let him use the ipad to watch different little videos that he likes that if it says bad words or shows bad things he needs to turn it off. I don't think they noticed what was happening last night. It is more the fact that it never should have been shown on a kids channel given the content and the rating.

For a second when I first read your OP, I thought you were referring to your 5th son and 3rd daughter and I was thinking, "how the hell did I not realize she had so many kids!?"

That is awful! I hope you get a response soon! This is the reason my H and I are considering canceling our satellite. Granted, there's crappy stuff on the basic channels too.

I love me some real housewives, SATC, and HGTV though....sigh.

Oh, heck no! I'd be calling and yelling at everyone I could think of. Who in the world thinks that's appropriate to put on a kid's channel?!?
