Holy after pains!

in April 2014 Moms
They are as bad as my 4-5cm contrax this time around. I'm feeling them in my back as much as my abdomen. Anyone else? FWIW, this is baby #3 for me.

    OMG yes- baby #2 and I wanted an epidural for the after pains. I was gripping the bed rails. Especially when she nursed. The good news is they got 1000x better bay day 4.

    I got them really bad when I nursed too but they went away by day 3 for me :)

    They were awful this time for me! (Baby 2) The nurse looked at me and said I could get you something stronger for pain management but since u went med free I'm sure u can handle it. Good point lady, still considered it though :) way better by 3 days pp for me and gone by day 4.

    Yes!!!! Baby #3 for me too and they are horrible!! They were never this bad with the other two. They feel as bad as you described.

    Yes! I had them after and was wondering if i had another baby coming or not. ;) The nurse said that with the second baby it can feel like you are in labor again. It gets better everyday.

    Yep. My ob warned me second time around they'd be worse.

    I really don't remember them at all with DD and this time they were miserable when DS nursed for the first few days! Totally gone by the time we left the hospital though (so Day 4).

    My OB warned that each baby brings stronger after birth contractions. Day 4 got much better but it was weird seeing my abdomen contract in and out during feedings. This one is my last so I'm kinda enjoying every moment, even the bad ones as I know this is it for us.

    Yeah, but birth contractions bring you a baby, after pains just shrink the ute faster. Way less of an end game.

    They get worse with every baby. Third time for me as well and they were awful. They only lasted a few days though. Good luck!

    For sure. I was seriously considering taking her up on the drugs!

    I knew nothing about after birth contractions or nursing sleepiness but had them both in the hospital. FTM so the pain wasn't bad.

    I will be having my third and have been warned that the after pains were horrible. I didn't really have any the first and time and las time was minimal. I was thinking maybe they just didn't effect me...these posts scare me. Yikes.
