Gage's Birth Story

Okay so it has been a few days and I am finally posting DS's birth story. WARNING to those of you having a first time c-section you may want to read this after your own experience as I did not have a great one and do not want to stress you out.

I went to the hospital at 3pm in the afternoon for my schedued c section (complete previa) and tubal. Registration was quick since I had previously filled out all my paper work. Here is where the fun started. I was taken to a room and monitored and given an iv. And then a freaking catheter oh how could I have not known that would be a thing? So after that discomfort I was shaved by a nurse while another watched (she was asking the nurse something but I swear the whole time she was watching her shave me). DH and I then waited for all the iv liquid and antibiotics to drip through about an hour after we thought we would be going in I was taken to the OR for my spinal block. It took three stabs to get the block in the right place. A strong jolt of electricity flew down my leg causing me to freak out (very embaressing). Finally I was numb and the discomfort of the catheter was gone but now I lay there naked staring straight up at my reflection in the light watching them prep me (awkward). I was then drapped and DH brought in. The process began it was strange hearing the doctor talk through the surgery. They had to use an insane amount of pressure to move my son who was transverse. Finally he was out and all I could hear was wow what a big baby show mom how big he is. So I got my first peek of the most beautiful boy ever born. (Not as big as they claimed 8lbs 11oz 21 in thats smaller than DD was). They took him to clean him off and I heard him cry (amazing). Then in the next 2 minutes I was so sick feeling I just wanted to pass out I asked if I could go to sleep even if it meant waiting to get a close up of DS cause I was so sick I was told that wouldn't be a good idea (later I found out I had a hemorage and lost a lot of blood and my blood pressure dropped scary low causing the sick feeling) the sickness passed and they handed DS to DH who held him near my face. He was and is so beautiful I could not believe it. I told him how much I loved him and everything I said to him he actually responded with coos it was wonderful and amazing. They made DH leave and took DS for his bath while the Dr finished up. I ended up only needing to be in recovery for an hour before going back to my room with my son and DH. So 20 staples later I am in love and  would  do it over again 50 times to have this amazing baby.
