Stay at Home Moms

It's Saturday night, what are you doing?

I'm trapped in a hotel room with two children who haven't napped and refuse to go to bed. There is a wrestling team running the halls and I'm exhausted. Dh is watching the final four game at his parents house. I told him he might want to stay there because one of us need some sleep. Im praying my oldest will just pass out at some point. That will happen right?
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

  • That sounds rough.

DH is making grilled cheese for dinner because just thinking about food makes me feel sick. Whee! Saturday night!

  • Sorry @dizzykates‌!

We hosted DS1's 6th bday party at our house today. 17 kindergarteners ended up coming... It was a blast, and I am EXHAUSTED!

DH and I are camped out on the sofa watching tv and drinking a beer.
  • My girls are staying with my aunt and my mom and DH is working nights! I'm sitting on the couch eating pizza rolls and cookies and now cracking up over Sex sent me to the Er!
This is the first night in 19 months I've been home with no kids!! I'm soaking it up!
  • Day 4 of the 30 day shred.

    Procrastinating.

  • Staying up with DS3 because he's had febrile seizures tonight and last night. I'm currently waiting for his temp to go down further and then I'm planning to have him sleep in our room again.
I was hoping to do an Insanity workout after I get him to sleep but I'm not feeling it right now and will probably just lay down.

That sucks, I hope you have an uneventful night. I can imagine that is very scary!

  • @dizzykates‌- thanks, DS1 has them as well (as did I) so I wasn't completely shocked. He's acting fine now so I'm just waiting for the temp to actually get to where I'm comfortable laying him down.
  • Oh Rink, I hope your night goes smoothly.

We had a friend's kid's birthday party this afternoon. DH's friend came over and cooked dinner for all of us this evening and we're watching the fight. I might get tipsy if I finish this glass of wine. AND I plan on at least one more.

My girlfriends came up and took me out for a pedicure and dinner.  They just left and I think DH expects me to have sex with him or something.

My dh just offered to come back early so I can hit the hot tub. It sounds like too much work.

  • Relaxing after a day of spring cleaning and DH cleaning out the garage and taking the xmas lights down.  I have quite the pile in the basement for the neighborhood garage sale in a couple months.  I just want to get rid of things we don't necessarily need.  It feels great, but dang am I tired.

I have been really sick so on the mend. have had pneumonia  was in and out of the hospital the last two weeks. They also found a tumor in my ear canal. its not cancerous but I am having surgery to have it removed.  I am sick of being sick, I feel like a horrible mom.

    Edit: auto correct fail.
  • Sitting in a dark room catching up on all the Dr Who episodes because I decided I need to watch this show. This one is super creepy and I'm a little freaked out. Baby asleep on my lap because he got up and wandered in here. DH still at work tonight.

OMgosh! Glad you are better now. I wondered where you had been, I'm dying to see the bed y'all made for your girls!

A tumor in your ear? Is it like behind your eardrum? Does it hurt? What will the surgery be like? Are you going to show us the bed?
We are staying at my parents right now, cause of being sick -H is away for work for a conference so I will see what I can do as soon as things normalize. That won't be after we move now. He is officially getting transferred for work.  I will attempt to get the picture up soon, just have been not home much.
The tumor is in my ear canal and it just gross but it covers part of my ear drum in part. It makes me feel like I am under water and has made me really dizzy. vertigo like.  It started right before having Bennet and it has been an on going annoyance since.  Thanks for the concern

Yikes!  Sounds like you have a lot on your plate.  Are you moving far away?  I can't imagine trying to pack up and move with a newborn, plus everything else you are juggling.  Sounds stressful!
We are not moving when H does, he is going to get settled then we are going to move down. I am going to be a week day single parent for a couple months and he will be home Friday - Sunday morning. Will move  there for sure in August, in time for school to start. We are moving from CT or Va/ MD/ DC area. where exactly- no clue.

Oh my goodness! I hope things calm down for you soon. What is your DH's job that will cause you to move and to not know where ? I can't imagine not knowing. That would add to my stress for sure! Hope you get some answers and relief soon!

We are not sure where we are moving only based on schools and finding the right house.  Its more of a decision than that and we want Clara to finish her first grade year in our present town.

Oh my gosh, that sounds so awful! I can't imagine being a single parent for MONTHS. And while you have an ear tumor... how will you care for them while you recover from surgery? Can your mom stay with you to help out? Moving is stressful enough its own, I can't imagine.

  • I could not imagine moving with some much going on. I hope it's a smooth move and nothing gets damaged...like the beds.
  • My goodness some of us have had quite the weekend
