What does your Saturday look like?

I just check on DD to make sure she was still alive. She has been sleeping...in her crib...without a paci...for 2 hours! This is amazing! She NEVER naps this long - usually only 30-45 minutes. I'm probably jinxing myself by bragging.
Anyway, it's a good excuse to not go over to my IL to help DH cut wood. We heat our house with an outdoor wood stove. This past winter was so horrible that we ran out of wood. DH is hellbent on that never happening again so he's literally been cutting wood every weekend and week night that he can. I hate cutting wood and use DD as an excuse to get out of it quite often.
Tomorrow will probably consist of packing for our "trip." I'm still on ML and DH has to go to a 3 day class for his work on the east side of the state. Since his work is footing the hotel bill, why not make it a family thing?! I don't have to take time off work and I get to go on a mini vacation with my fam. I'll take it!

Enough about me. What are your plans?

  • Went to work out while DH watched LO, and we're going to a friend's for dinner at 6. He went to Ranger School with my husband and is celebrating being back from Afghanistan. Yay!

Have fun on your mini trip!!

DH is at work right now. My family is at a hospital over an hour away because my brother is having surgeries. So it is just DD and I for now. MIL came over for a bit but just left. I think we will go for a walk in a little while since it is finally nice out here.

  • Sitting at the ballpark that I used to work for waiting for an old co worker that's running late. I'm supposed to be taking pictures for her. Bugs me because my mom has the kiddos and I so did not want to leave and she didn't call. I got a text 5 minutes before our meeting time.

On my way here there was a motorcycle accident and the guy was in the middle of the road so thoughts and prayers to him and his friends and family.

After this I'm going to Target to get my swimsuit and DS a hat so we can start swimming and so damn hot here already.
  • Woke up did my daily burn workout video, fed DD and DS, woke up the husband, took DS on a "jog" in his running stroller the mush where my muscles should be was screaming. When I dragged my butt home BIL dropped off 3 yr old niece to play with DS. They played then ate lunch and are currently napping. So I am Now cleaning the house, doing laundry, cooking bc friends are coming for dinner while talking to my super cute DD who keeps smiling at me. I'm exhausted but it is still an awesome day!!
  • We were going to do family time like the indoor playground but ODS was cranky and out of sorts so we are taking it easy. DH played with him in the garage (ODS likes to "work" with dad) and I cleaned the bathrooms.

DH is going to the hockey game so kids and I are having dinner at my parents. ODS might stay there (he likes to sleep over occasionally... Probably because he gets spoiled).

Once they're in bed, my big plan is Scandal, wine and snacks.

Slept in since SO was kind enough to get up for the 8:00 feeding. Laid around watching tv for a few hours with SO while DD napped, and now I'm about to get up to clean, and shower before heading over to my uncles for dinner and fried ice cream! Maybe after we'll go for a walk by the lake and enjoy the last of this beautiful Texas day.
  • Walked to the library only to find out that they have their elevator entrance locked on Saturdays so no books for DD today. Went across the street to our towns Spring Bazaar. There were probably 30-40 vendors there. We got to sample cake! Came home about 11:30 had lunch then went back out to pick up my Bountiful Basket. Put the kids down for naps at 1. Tried to nap myself but kept getting interrupted. Now I am waiting for DH to get home from work and I will be making chicken and dumplings for dinner.

We had a good day despite H and DS bring sick. Went to pick up lunch at a local deli...had a picnic at the park...then, we played t ball with DS....he did so well! He's a natural! We then flew a kite, ran around the bases at the field and went to the park so he could play for a while. Afterwards, we went to get cupcakes and then to Starbucks.
Tomorrow, maybe church then dye Easter eggs. Prob vacuum the car and clean the rubber mats. Also, I'm prob going to rip out a few shrubs in the front of my house. Damn bees had a hive buried in the dirt underneath the one. I had to dodge them all last summer and fall.

What did you think of Grand Budapest Hotel? I've heard a couple people say it's Wes Anderson's best since Tenenbaums, but I didn't love Moonrise Kingdom so I've been holding off...

Honestly, I am not much of a movie person. I get bored easily with movies. So I am not the best person to ask. I can't remember the last movie I saw in the theatre. But I liked it. ETA: case in point -- I haven't seen either of the movies you mentioned. :)
  • We had soccer and a bday party. Then DH and I met some friends at the horse track for a bday. It was great to get out and have drinks and people watch. It was not great to drop $100 on a sitter. Lol.
