Sleeping too much?

My little girl is only 4 days old and seriously sleeps all day long. Normally 3-4 hour stretches at a time. She wakes up to eat and then she's out again. Although I enjoy all the extra time. I am worried that she is sleeping too much. She was born at term. I don't remember DS sleeping this much.

    As long as she's eating and growing, don't worry! My 2 year old did that as a newborn, sleeping through the night by 6 weeks, was literally only awake for about 4 hours a day until over a year. My dr said not to worry about to much sleep until they are 2, as long as they are eating and growing.

    I am in the exact same boat. DS is 8 days old and sleeps the entire day. I have to wake him to eat and he usually falls asleep during nursing. He was jaundice, which I know makes it worse, but his bloodwork yesterday showed he's now within normal levels. My 2 yr old definitely didn't sleep like this.

    I am so glad you posted this! I was just worrying about my DD today because she so, so sleepy all the time (esp while BFing). Then again, I feel like she was up all night last night so I should probably keep that in mind.
