This maybe a dumb question? What is cocyntal? Does it work pretty good? This is the first time one of my kids have gas problems. I'm open to any other methods to help with gas for my daughter. :-/
@MrsNash07 - it's a homeopathic medicine for gas, colic and cramps. DD has horrible gas and she calms down pretty quickly after getting a dose. It's really easy to administer too because all doses are packaged in a single use dose.
Gas drops before feedings. Also, when I was breastfeeding, I found that if I ate acidic foods (mostly tomato based like spaghetti, chili, etc.) DD would get really fussy and have bad gas.
Also, I second the "time" recommendation. Even though we switched to formula, Amelia will sometimes get gas and it's NBD now.

Mommy's Bliss gripe water and also taking her legs and doing the "bicycle" with them. The pressure from her legs onto her stomach always quiets her and makes her feel better.
We use Mylicon but it doesn't seem to help that much. My son had colic and the Gerber Soothe Drops were amazing! But $30 for a tiny bottle. I've stopped using them now that he is 3 months. He's doing ok just with Mylicon and burping.
Does anyone know where I can get the probiotic drops for infants/newborns? I have been on a no dairy diet for two weeks and it seems to be helping her constipation, but I would still like her to poop more. She is pooping 1-2 times a day.

1-2 times a day is perfectly normal for any baby bf or ff. Just let her body dictate how much she wants to poop. And remember that using her digestive system is still new to her, and it'll take some time for it to ripen and digest everything more readily.
Back to the OT, Mylicon, Similac Sensitive and Dr Browns bottles worked great for my LO. Also bicycle kicks and the gas hold. Lots of burping.
We found biogaia drops at costco. Cheapest there! Health food stores carry them but the markup can be ridiculous.
BF babies can go for 9 to 12 days without pooping - says my lactation consultant. Not sure about FF babies.
Thanks for your rec on this, did you happen to ask you LOs doctor about this product? I'm guessing it worked well for your LO??
I looked it up, it seemed to be safe so I bought some for my LO. I then asked his pedi... She said that we should try simethicone- Mylicon or Little Tummies b/c the cocyntal has activated carbon in it, hasn't been studied and is not FDA approved. The FDA part doesn't bother me, they approve if a ton of stuff I would never put in my own body let alone my LO's but I don't know much about the effects of activated carbon...
Also pressing their legs agains his/her tummy, my boy would fart everytime I did that to him. Comfort him by massaging his tummy in circular motions with some baby oil.

We buy Gerber Probiotic drops at CVS or other large drug stores have them. Good to know about Costco! My LO goes a few days without pooping and the dr. said it's fine as long as he has wet diapers and when he does finally poop it's not hard.

Then we had you.
Now we are complete.
