Cheap audio monitor?

I'm looking for a cheap audio monitor. No video, movement sensors, temp gauges, or fancy bells and whistles. Our house is tiny, so it doesn't have to do anything but transmit decent quality sound with minimal static and interference, and it has to be able to handle the extra background noise of a sound machine.

It looks like AngelCare no longer makes their audio-only monitor, and I'm afraid a second V-Tech monitor would interfere with the one we already have in DS's room.

So what are our options? I don't even know where to start.

@mrspopsicle That's the one I've been looking for! BRU doesn't sell it, apparently. I can't believe I forgot about Amazon. Do you notice it clicking and cycling through channels all night? Our VTech does that and drives me crazy.

Have you tried any of them? I remember seeing a few of them when I was shopping for DS's, but they always had lukewarm reviews.

We have the Vtech one from amazon. Here. Granted, I have no experience using it with a baby but we turned it on and I had DH talk into while I was upstairs and it sounds fine to me. You can also push a button to talk back to the baby unit from the parent unit, which I thought was cool.

@cbrust That's the one we have in DS's room. But our house is tiny, so I wonder about two of the same type competing for RF.

We used this one with DD and it worked really well. We will use it for this LO as well.

We've never had that problem, or any problem for that matter. I've also been really impressed with the battery life.

Crap!!! I JUST saw one yesterday (I believe it was motorola) on clearance in Marshall's/Home Goods for $29.

Not that that helps you at all but I'd maybe check those places.
