My grandpa had femoral artery surgery three weeks ago and had to go in to the hospital yesterday because he was having trouble with his leg. They put him in a medically induced coma and did emergency surgery on him last night. There were several complications during the surgery and his kidneys have shut down. He is still in the medically induced coma in critical condition in ICU. He is also having some bleeding from the surgery site. The doctors are not very optimistic about his situation and have called all of the family in. They said if by a miracle he does make it, he will lose both of his legs.
The hardest part about all of this is that I live in Colorado with my husband and my family lives in South Carolina. I looked up last minute flights but they are around $800 and with the baby we just can't afford that. It is breaking my heart that I can't be there with my family or give my papa one last hug. I did get to talk to him yesterday though and told him how much I loved him. He told me to take care of my little boy and raise him to be strong and hard headed like him. It kills me to know that he might not get to meet his first great grand child.
On top of everything my dog ate a bag of trail mix (that my husband left on the counter) this morning. Raisins are toxic for dogs and I am freaking out. I called the vet and they told me to keep an eye on him and if he starts acting funny to bring him in. Luckily there hasn't been any sickness yet. I love this dog with all of my heart and couldn't stand it if something happened to him.
I am trying to stay strong for my LO but I am a crying mess. Keep my family in your thoughts and prayers please. Sorry this was so long.
**Update- my grandpa passed away this afternoon. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. **
Re: NBR - Thoughts and Prayers Needed (long) *update*
Hoping you find flights and your pup is ok.

As for your pup, my dog at an entire box of cherry cordials once and she didn't even flinch. They are pretty resilient. Hang in there. T&p's to you and your family.
