So my DS goes to a DC center PT (1 full day & 2 half day afternoons a week). Hes been going since January and so far, we really like it. Generally, he seems to be in a good mood upon pick up, so I assume he enjoys it.
As some of the kids get picked up in the evenings, they tend to consolidate the kids together into 2 rooms based on accordingly so that some of the staff can leave (understandably). Well whenever DS gets put into one of the rooms with the infant teacher on duty (an older woman, she also happens to be the staff nurse there, but helps out in the infant room a few days/week), I always seems to get a report that he "fell by the window and bumped his head". Or he "fell by the bookshelf and bumped his face", always minor, but I never seem to get that report with any of the other teachers.
Maybe this particular teacher is just more thorough/detailed than others, idk. Either way, I know my kid tends to be a bit of a clutz, but why just with this teacher? Also, she's brought up a few times the fact that he's not walking yet and his leg muscles seem weak, and that perhaps he could use some intervention there. I had told her today at pick up that at our last appt, the pedi said his tone is a little low, but hes not concerned and as he continues to stand/attempt to walk abd use those muscles, he should do just fine. Her reply was "oh I'm surprised they didn't suggest PT or some type of intervention".
Sorry this got long, but my thing is that her input just seems to make me worry more than I need to. If the pedi said he's not concerned, I shouldn't be, but when she says stuff like this I feel like I have something to worry about. Does thatmake sense? This combined with the fact that I'm always getting accident reports when my kid is on her watch is irking me a little.
Am I overreacting here? Or would you bring this up with the director?

Re: WWYD?
Thanks for the anecdote. I guess I'm just torn bc although the pedi has said he's not concerned about it, when I told her this, she was all like "oh I'm surprised they didnt refer him for PT or some type of intervention". Abd IDK...it just sort of puts more anxiety on me about this...even though the pedi has already addressed these concerns and told me he's fine, just on the later side with this stuff.
But the fact that shes a nurse, almost makesme feel like I sshould listen to her concerns as well. KWIM?
I mean, either way, he's got an EI eval coming up (the pedi wants him evaulated for possible speech therapy, since his only really word is "dada"), so they'll evaluate him in all areas and I guess we'll go from there.
This particular teacher says he seems ok with pulling up on things, standing, and cruising, but that his legs seems to "buckle underneath him a lot". At home, I dont see this happen. He seems to stand, cruise, and walk while holding onto my fingers just fine...he just plops down abd crawls/sits when he gets lazy and doesn't want to do it anymore. Majority of the timw at home, he prefers to be standing.
So I guess sometimes it just feels like she's giving me more of a reason to worry when there probably isn't one. But then again, she's the one with medical training, not me. So idk...maybe I'm just getting defensive for no reason. Either way I guess it'll all be addressed by EI at his evaluation.
Basically, his standpoint was that DS's development doesn't have him overly concerned at all, and he seems like he may just be a late bloomer, but at the same time, if he were to qualify for services, it'd certainly be a benefit to him and could give him the extra nudge he might need.
So yeah. Of course I'm nervous about the eval, but I'm also interested to see what they think. And if he does qualify, then by all means, I'd want him to get the help with whatever he needs!
