I feel like no one is listening to me

I've been having really bad pain in my hips and lower back most of the day. It's happening about every 6 minutes. The baby's heart rate drops during it, but comes right back up. My upper stomach is not tightening so it's showing up as these tiny blimps on the monitor.

I feel like they are acting like it couldn't be contractions. I was given Tylenol and told I probably just need to drink more water and pee more. I was also told that being on bedrest can cause hip pain. It causes hip pain to come in regular intervals?

I'm having to breathe through them they are so painful. I'm so frustrated right now. :(

Sorry for the ramble I'm just in pain and having a super shitty day.

  • I'm sorry you are having a rough time. You can ask for a patient advocate or social worker to try to better get your point across. Hang in there and I hope things improve soon!

  • That's incredibly frustrating, wtf? Seems really odd that they wouldn't be worried about it at all. I'm really sorry.

  • That sounds so frustrating. I second asking for a social worker. Is it the doctors or nurses? Either way ask for the floor's director. If that doesn't work ask for someone higher.

I'm sorry. Is there someone else there you can voice your concerns to?

My hips and back are big problem areas for me and I've had my fair share of pain in them. The pain can definitely come and go, but I've never experienced it at regularly timed intervals. I still have one bad hip and after being in one position for too long, there is a burning-tearing feeling and shooting pain. The back pain after being in one position too long is constant for me. Both can be alleviated a little with a change in position. This doesn't sound like what you are experiencing.

I don't have any other advice, but I hope this helps validate your concerns. Hugs.

  • You know your body better then anyone so do not give up on having someone help you. And by the looks from your tickers this isn't your first rodeo so they should listen to you. Make them listen to you somehow, The others have suggested social workers and higher ups I would definitely consider that. But definitely get someones attention because I would also be worried about babys heart rate dropping. I had to have my Dr. keep me in the hospital for my LO when they told me I had Pre-eclampsia I was so worried of having problems and living so far away. I ended up with a C-section the next day.

    good luck
