  • We have the Nextfit and love it.  It has the highest RF limits on the market so will last your child rear-facing for a very long time.  It would likely last your child until they are ready for a dedicated booster.
  • I love love love my advocate, it just feels so safe, easy to use and he seems comfy. That being said my just turned two year old has a ridiculously long torso and I am going to have to get another convertible to let him rear face longer. I still love the advocate and will keep it for baby number two due in august and then my son will probably go back to it when he is ready to face forward. We have also taken the advocate on numerous planes and while it's a bit bulky I still love it. Just wish it was like 3 inches taller!
  • I guess i have to compare them both in person, if anybody has any more opinions or experience please share
  • My sons in the chicco next fit and we really like it. Super easy to use . Its the second longest rear facing seat second only to the Graco clones ( Headwise, myride , condender ) . We had our oldest in a Britax and had to change her seat far sooner then we had hoped. Its shell is short and will not get most kids to age two rearfacing and even after that allot of kids outgrow it forward facing sooner aswell. Though they are good seats the britax isnt recomended for kids who fall higher then the 35 percentile in height .
  • I have the advocate and I'm not a fan of it. I drive an Acura MDX and it's a big bulky seat that takes up a large amt of room in my car. (DD is almost 17 months and RF in my car)

If I'm not mistaken, Britax has retired this seat so only older versions are available. I had issues with Britax customer service. There was a recall on the safety cells (the rubber pieces on the chest straps). DD managed to break them and it broke into small pieces that I caught her chewing on. It took them about 2.5 months to get me the replacement parts after about 10 phonecalls and a dozen emails.

I just don't find the seat easy to use. I'm constantly having issues with getting the straps on top of her shoulders, they twist so easily, and constantly tighten unevenly. I have to take her out, completely tighten them, and then pull them all the way out to get them even again. I did call Britax re this and was told it was user error in the way I'm pulling them and after I take DD out to tighten all the wayto get them even again. It's just a hassle. My husband has taken the seat out numerous times to see if the straps are threaded correctly or twisted etc.

My husband has the Evenflo Symphony in his car. That seat is just seems to not have a lot of the aggravation as the advocate. We're expecting #2, once its time to get convertible seats I would not buy this one again.

  • We have the britax boulevard 70 CS...love it! Have no issues at all. DS is 2.5 however he is FF so I cannot speak as to the RF timeline at 2.5. We never have had any strap issues and we only have problems with all the other brand seats we have bought for grandparents cars and sister in laws!

  • Oh my god, thank you so much, I emailed Britax about the Advocate, because there are two different ratings for 2 advocate car seats on the NHTSA website, I have notheard from them, not impressed, and after what you said, Im leaning towards Nextfit much more
  • The Nextfit will last much longer but there's nothing inherently wrong with the Britax convertibles except that they have short shells.  I would definitely choose the Nextfit myself.

  • The Advocate is a nice seat, but it won't fit in small spaces and not a good option if you plan on putting more than two car seats in a back seat.  It has a shorter shell, not short, just shorter than the Chicco so if your child is 30% or more on the height charts, this seat might not be the best option for you.
