miss independent

Dd is in a stage where she'd rather play alone with her toys than with me. I know parallel play is a developmental stage but it makes me a little sad that my baby is already so independent. Anyone else?

Also, this is typically the face she gives me when I even try to entertain her now. To me it says, "mother, you're embarrassing me. Stop now." Not even mildly amused...

  • Wow my 14 year gives me that look! It might not be the norm but I feel my girl was/is way more independent. However, she always needs her mommy even at 14 she is my baby girl.

  • My baby only wants alone tome when he wants to play with something he's not supposed to!

    That pic is adorable :)
  • DS has started doing this some.  At times, it makes me sad  :((  But, I'm glad I can sit him down in the floor and he can entertain himself while I make dinner, fold laundry, etc. and he is content.
