Right ladies from the UK im looking for help.
I have been souring the internet, when i was last off with my Daughter on maternity leave i read something that said that if the mother returned to work the father of the baby could take over the rest of the paid maternity leave period, do anyone know if this is true and where is find the answers and if it is true how we go about setting it up.
i am only going to be taking a short maternity leave of about 4 or 5 months as that is about all we can afford as i an the main bread winner in our house hold and my husband will be stopping working to look after the children so him getting my SMP will help alot.
any help or advise is welcome.
Re: maternity leave
yea come over to the int'l board - there are lots of UK ladies
that's how it works in OZ though, the woman can take part of the time off and the man can take the rest if they want to
First BPP 1.24.14
EDD 9.26.14
Baby Cooper John born on 9.24.14 6lbs9oz
Oscar born October 2011
Miscarriage at 8 weeks (August 2013)
DD due September 1, 2014
I give you ladies credit, 6 weeks is definitely does not seem like enough time. I can take the full year here in Ontario and am so grateful that is an option
Hi, long time lurker here... I am from Ontario, Canada. We also have the same thing... we can split between both mother and father. Hope you are able to find the answer you need!
