Over it...IVF Cancelled

Yesterday RE called that we looked all good to go with IVF.  Then today at my "last" monitoring before triggering tonight, they said my follies didn't grow at all so I'm back to 5 follies.  WTF?!?!?  Give me a fucking number, already.  I've gone from 6 to 2 to 9 to 5 follies all this week.  I know things change and this whole IVF is a roller coaster, but for the love of God, can I get one consistent day!  Then to top it off, I get into work late and find baby pictures from a co-worker on my desk.  Fuck my life today...

After my monitoring today, my RE, the embryologist, and nurses gathered for 20 minutes to figure out what to recommend to me.  This is the second time they have to have a lengthy pow wow for figure out next steps.  My E2 is less than 1000, my P4 is not rising but still high, and there has been too much in question for me to spend the final $10K.  I asked for my AMH/FSH numbers, and I am at 0.79 AMH/6.3 FSH.  I don't really know what that means, and maybe the cycle where I over-responded was a fluke and my norm is to be a low responder...but there has been too much uncertainty this cycle for me to feel comfortable.  RE does feel bad about all the ups and downs, so he at least agreed to convert me to IUI, even with 5 follies (which he normally doesn't do).

    I'm so sorry it didn't work out, but I'm glad you'll save the money and have the option of the IUI- good luck with it!!!

    28R, 23M, 15F w/ICSI; 5dt of 1 partially hatched blast, 7 frosties = BFP
    EDD 5/23/14, blighted ovum (6w6d), D&C (8w6d)

    So sorry to hear this.  Sending you big (((hugs))).   Glad to here they will convert to IUI so it's not a complete cancellation.  It would be so great if you could show em how its done and get a BFP from your IUI :)  FX for you that the IUI is all you need.

    Me: 44 - Hashimoto's (under control), DH: 38 - (minor issues)

    IUIs: 2 in 2012 ... Both BFN
    IVF #1: 10/16/13 ... BFP, however it was not viable and ended in an early loss at 7weeks.
    IVF #2: Feb '14 ... Cancelled. Positive beta at baseline appt, became very early loss.
    IVF #2: Apr '    14 ... Retrieval Only. 2 embryos made it to day 3 freeze & will be batched with IVF #3 for PGD testing.
    IVF #3: June '14     ...     Retrieval Only. 4 embryos growing, all arrested before day 5. Two from April thawed, but also arrested.
    Currently benched while determining how to proceed.

    I over-responded with 14 follies when I had the IUI Injects cycle (75iu follistim).  It looks like my AMH is a little low...but I'd rather see one more time how my body responds before paying the full balance for IVF.  If I end up being a slow responder, so be it.  Just too many questions right now for me to feel good about it.

    Dh:34, no issues.  Me:31, Endo, slightly hypothyroid, deformed ovary, paracentric inversion.
    4 Gonal-F, Cetrotide, HcG, Crinone +TI cycles= all BFN
    Lap in 2012 to remove large unresolving cyst discovered endo and double lobed ovary.
     6 Gonal-F, Cetrotide, HcG, Crinone IUI cycles= All BFN,
    1st IVF w/ICSI- June '13 Antagonist: Gonal-F, Menopur, Ganirelix, HcG, Estradiol, Crinone= 7 retrieved, 4 mature, 1 unfertilized, 2 abnormally fertilized, 1 normally fertilized.  2DT of only embryo and our miracle BFP.
    Our beloved baby boy was born sleeping Oct. 13, 2013 due to pROM/IC/Uterine infection.
    2nd IVF w/ICSI- Feb. '14 EPP/lupron/antagonist: Estrace, lupron, HGH, Gonal-F, Menopur, HcG, PIO, lovenox, doxy/dex.=21 retrieved, 16 mature, 15 fertilized!!  5dt of 1 blast/ 6 frozen. BFP!  Beta 1 9dp5dt:83.9  Beta 2: 11dp5dt: 145.2  Beta 3  14dp5dt: 497  Please be our sticky rainbow baby!

    @AlaskaDee23 it's an ad agency, so half the people here dress in shorts and flip flops on Fridays.  My office is in a nice hidden corner where no one walks by, so I don't look too crazy...if anything, people probably think I'm hungover!

    I am so sorry that you have had so many ups and downs.  I don't blame you for canceling the IVF. I am keeping my FX that your IUI does the trick.

    DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA  Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA

    October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos

    November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues.  Converted to freeze all due to lining issues.  2 blasts frozen on day 6!

    January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

    April 2015: FET #2.1

    Ugh that sucks so bad. I'm sorry. At least you'll get to do the IUI though. IF and especially IVF can be so freaking frustrating

    FWIW, my RE told me that he only converted 2 patients to IUI from IVF in 2013 and one of them got pregnant. I'm holding on to hope for you. I hope you can sneak out of work early and take a nap or something.

    (((hugs))) This sucks, but I think this may be the best ending for you. If you got 14 eggs before you can get them (or more!) again. That will make the $$$ go further in your next IVF cycle, IF you even need it. Good luck on the IUI!!!

    I'm so very sorry. You just rock those sunglasses in your office and be pissed and mad because this whole thing is so unfair. Hopefully, your RE can come up with some answers before starting up again, if that's what you decide to do.

    IVF prep September 2013 cancelled due to Ovarian Cyst
    IVF #1 October 2013 Antagonistic Protocol with ICSI  ER 10/31/13 (18R 16M 11F- 6 blasts to freeze)
    ET delayed due to OHSS 
    FET scheduled for July 8. Delayed due to a crazy high TSH (it had been under control for YEARS!)
    FET #1 8/5/14 sET BFN

    This all stinks. I am so sorry. Big hugs and wishing you all the best on your IUI.

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    TTC: since March 2012

    09-21-13 start IVF #1
    10-04-13 ER 6 eggs, 6 mature, all 6 fertilized. 3 frozen
    10-08-13 fresh transfer canceled due to high progesterone
    waiting for FET
    10-18 started BCP
    10-29 baseline appt scheduled
    11-20 scheduled date of FET #1
    12-2 BFN :(

    3-1-14 moving on to the next step. Switched RE. going to plan 3 IUI cycles while saving for IVF#2

    April 2014- IUI#1  BFN
    May 2014- IUI#2 BFN
    June 2014 IUI#3 BFN

    Taking a break for a while, focusing on our wedding.

    Sept 24th missed period! Surprise natural BFP

    I'm so sorry for what you've been through this week. Ugh. I agree with PP that it's good the doc decided to convert vs. cancel. Wishing you the best of luck with the IUI.
