TTC Check-In

Good Morning Folks!

How is your TTC journey progressing? Let us know where you're at in the process and how you're feeling.

**Reminder - If you have a BFP to post, please do so by creating a new thread. We want everyone to be able to see it! Thank you!**

QOTW: What is your favorite summer activity?

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

Re: TTC Check-In

  • no updates here ... 1st appointments coming this week & next week

Favorite summertime activity- POOL parties. this year we are having an "open door" policy for all friends & family every weekend.  gotta get some use out of that pool!

@crazyaunt84 - why did u choose to do ICI and not just jump to IUI? just curious! thanks!

  • I am on CD 7 and my 5th day of Gonal-F injects. We went up on Sunday for blood work only and have to go back up on Wednesday for blood work and u/s. I am at 150 for a day longer than the last cycle, so I'm worrying a little that my body isn't responding as well this cycle. Last cycle I only had a CD 3 u/s and then one on the day I triggered. Since I'm having one on Wednesday and staying at 150, I'm anxious to see what things look like. I'm also semi-worried about over responding again. My body seems to like to wait until the last minute and then my follies make a run for it and my e2 shoots up.

QOTW: I have two favorite summer activities. C and I love to geocache. More than anything though, we love to be on the motorcycle. We went for our first ride of the season last night. It was cold but definitely worth it. I want to ride as much as I can before I have to be done for the season...assuming there is a LO growing in my ute in the near future.

  • I'm just hanging out and waiting for AF - won't see her for a few more weeks, given my cycles are about 5 weeks long.  So... just waiting :) I've lost some weight (thanks bronchitis!) which is a good thing.  Looking forward to exercising again - though I'm waiting until I can finally sleep through the night without having a major coughing fit.  Even though my lungs are relatively clear of gunk, the tubes are still swollen and any exertion of my lungs makes me cough so hard I pee myself.  Lovely, yes?  I have to wear maxi pads until this goes away.  Oy.

I ordered my medicines!  One 300 iu pen of Follistim and a shot of Ovidrel.  I'm going to start acupuncture next week so that's an exciting development.  Continuing on my low-carb, high-protein regime.

Gotta love the game of hurry-up-and-wait, huh?  I'm hopeful for this next cycle.  I'm glad I took this month off with all the stuff going on at work.  There's also a spectacular beer festival happening next weekend - if I do get KTFU then I won't be able to enjoy a beer festival again for a long time.  I gotta live it up while I can ;)

  • So, I've been benched since January due to surgery, so I haven't posted much of anything since then. But now we are off the bench and back to actively trying for this cycle. I had my CD3 bloodwork done last week, and will have a CD10 ultrasound on Wednesday.

We are hopeful that we get to do an insem this month. As a refresher, I have one tube that is blocked, and a clotting disorder that means I'm on blood thinners for life, so my RE does not want to do any of the procedures to try to open the blocked tube due to the risk of bleeding/clotting. Additionally, she does not want to use any fertility drugs because of the increased risk of clotting. So, our cycles are limited to ultrasound/OPK monitoring and bloodwork only for timing our insems. No drugs, no trigger shot.

Our plan for this month, assuming we get to try, is to do one home ICI and one in office IUI to hopefully maximize our chances while taking a little bit of the sterility out of the process.

I'm glad to be back on the rollercoaster, and actively TTC again.

QOTW - My favorite summertime activity is going to the beach. I could just sit and stare at the ocean and listen to the sounds of the waves for HOURS. It is so incredibly relaxing to me.

    IUI #1 - November 2013 - BFN
    ICI #1 (home) - May 2014 - BFP!! Beta #1 - 5/30 - 164; Beta #2 - 6/6 - 4794!!!

  • Our clinic told us yesterday that they have a personality compatibility test for picking a sperm donor which would have been more useful two weeks ago since we've managed to narrow it down to two by ourselves, but we sat it this morning and it came back as being the one that I preferred, so long story short; we've picked a sperm donor! We are looking at having IVF in June or July, depending on some final testing @Astabacus' FI needs to do.

QOTW: Scuba diving, and camping. Our local scuba diving centre has a semi-advanced group which we are part of that go around scotland scuba diving throughout the summer, and it's always great fun. I also love camping, and have done it since I was a little girl. Last year we went camping to Lake Garda for a week, and then to a place just outside of The Hague for a weekend, and up to Durness for another weekend. We're thinking of going to Sicily and Luxembourg this year.
  • My appt this morning showed 4 follies that are 12, 12, 13 and 14 mm. The one in the right ovary is 12 mm and cloudy, so the nurse said it may not be a good one or it could just be from growing. I won't know until this afternoon, but it looks like we will be back up Friday for blood work and u/s. I imagine we are on track for triggering Friday night and IUI on Sunday morning. We have already decided that we will move forward with 4 if that is what we have.

  • Glad your follies are growing nicely, @StacyLH24!  Good luck and keep us posted!!!
  • Today we are cycle day 1!!! Tomorrow we go for baseline and to start our injections. Holy cow I'm excited and scared.

In that whole process we found out today that Sarah's dad isn't doing well and is going for a stress test and heart cath. Last time this took us to immediate open heart surgery with him just 2 years ago. :( very worried about him.

Hoping we get preg. And this will give him extra incentive to stick to the diet and stay around for his 1st grand baby or 2 for awhile with us!

Summer activity: beach trips, grilling out and deck parties with friends!

    10 medicated IUI's (3 with injectables).
IUI #1 (medicated) Jan. 2013-BFP!!!!- Beta's didn't double, MTX shot for possible ectopic.
    8 IUI's between April 13-April 14 = BFN
IUI #10 and final before IVF, injectables May 2014- BFP!!!!  TWINS!!!!

7 week ultrasound showed 2 wonderful heartbeats!
8 weeks to the ER with vaginal bleeding while on vacations!  Diagnosed SubChorionic Hemorrhage.  Babies are both great.
9 week ultrasound showed both babies are still great.
  • Surged this morning, scheduled for first IUI tomorrow morning which also happens to be my birthday. Glad I have a full day of chores to keep me busy today. Also trying not to stress about stressing but it is exciting.

Summer activity- gatherings with friends, family and food out here at the farm.
  • i tried to move up my appointment but they only do it on wednesdays in the office i want to go to
i dont want to wait! lol

  • No news here, just waiting for baseline appt on the 19th.  DW's main job is to take her birth control pills.  I helped by setting them on her toothbrush last night, since she was coming home around midnight.  I'm a helper. :)

  • We are still waiting to find out. The OTC tests have been negative but K hasn't started her period yet and she is late. Normally she gets it right after I finish but it's been over a week now. So just waiting.

Traveling!!! Every chance we get. Going to make a trip to TN this summer to check out grad schools for K.

  • My temping seems to be indicating that I ovulated this month which means I will likely be doing my next IUI in early June. By doctors orders I need to make it through on more cycle and then I am cleared to try again.  I am just happy that it looks like my cycles are getting back to normal.

QOTW: What is your favorite summer activity? I love to BBQ at our house. We bought a house with an amazing grilling area and patio and we love it. We always set up a small pool for the dog and just relax in the sun. Besides that I am a big fan of amusement parks and carnival type things.

Married in September 2010, started TTC journey November 2012

    Me-

New Plan: Reciprocal IVF, me as carrier wife's eggs. Just went through insurance and received partial approval, so my part will go through my IVF benefits and wife's part will be out of pocket. Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.

  • @oddduck1979‌ - I hope it is a BFP and just not getting picked up for some reason.

My final monitoring before IUI was this morning. It looks like we are only going to have one good follie after all. I'm not gonna lie.... I wanna scream WTF???? to my body. The other three follies barely grew at all since Wednesday. I told a friend that I feel like this is our Hail Mary and the odds don't seem to be in our favor. I'm trying to be on the positive side, but it honesty is hard right this second. C and I are exhausted from our early morning trips, so that doesn't help. As long as my blood work comes back looking good, I will trigger tonight and then our IUI is Sunday at 9:30.
