June 2013 Moms

Canadian mamas

We will be visiting by BIL in Montreal for a month in July/Aug before we go state side.

1st what's the weather like during that time?

2ndly
I've been looking at car seats and pack and plays to buy ahead time and have sent to my BIL's. Besides target and walmart what other stores can I order online that is reasonably priced?

We have plans to just leave them there since we will be returning to Morocco for 10 days before leaving for the states.

Thanks in advance!

  • Look at toys r us or Sears too. I'll warn you that they are not cheap here but you cannot save the money and use an American car seat.

As for weather, I've only been to Montreal once and it was in February. Expect something between 20-30? Take a look on their tourist website for normal seasonal temps. :)

Have fun! Go to Schwartz's deli!!!

  • Montreal Is great in the summer! Temps are what westerndiva said, so like 80 to 90f, You can also try Costco for car seat and pnp, they deliever. I second the things are expensive here. Ariziza just said that BRU has a car seat on at BRU for 99 right now.

  • Here's a good deal on a car seat: https://t.toysrus.ca/skava/static/product.html?type=TRU_product_non_us&url=/product/index.jsp?productId=22438856&prodFindSrc=prodCrossSell&refProd=29977936&prodFindSrc=relateditems&domain=http://www.toysrus.ca

If you a looking at walmart/target/sears make sure you are looking at the Canadian websites, they usually end in ".ca" instead of ".com" Amazon.ca is another good place to look.

  • Thank you everyone for your input. I'll check out those places now.

I was trying to avoid having to travel with 2 car seats and a pack and play.

I excited to go this will my first time to Canada :-)

  • Everyone's pretty much hit all the places to check for baby gear. As for the sights, definitely go to the ports and old Montreal. You have a month, which is fantastic! There is really so much to see and do in the area. There's a great boardwalk with restaurants and cafés in St-Anne-de-Bellevue. If you want to do some overnight trips Quebec City is really worth visiting (it's about a 3 hr drive if I remember correctly) and we have also spent some time up at Mont Tremblant in the summer and it was wonderful!
