Any milestones, updates, appointments? It has been another very quiet week again! I had some pretty bad pain two days ago but I spent a day with my feet up and definitely helped things out.
Any rants or raves? The pollen here in Nc is killing me. I woke up with the worst sinus headache this morning. I wish I could keep my windows open but instead I have to turn the ac on already....boo.
I had my 16 week appointment this week. We found out we are officially team pink! I spoke with one of the MFM Drs. today and because I had a full term baby last time I guess I am not a great candidate for the progesterone shots, but we are doing cervical measurements every 2 weeks starting today. My cervix was actually longer today than it was at my NT scan and no funneling, which was awesome to hear. We are going to watch my cervix and if it starts to change we will do the suppositories again like with DS. At our US the tech was awesome and decided to look for the sex, which was awesome. She said she was 95% sure it was a girl! I was so surprised!!
I have been having Braxton Hicks for a few weeks which scare me, but I was happy to hear the Drs. say they don't recommend bed rest. So I hope the contractions can stay away this time...we will see.
I'm 18 weeks. No big appointments--just a F/u with nutritionist for GD. My morning fasts are still high but that's mostly related to my lack of sleep. I really need my DS to sleep better!
My DS is being moved up to riddler room at daycare and my pregnancy hormones have kicked into overdrive. Thrilled he is learning and growing, but yet sad to leave the comfort of the infant room!
My rant for the week is what a boob my high risk dr is. He actually told me he doesn't need to see me anymore. Umm... Hey idiot--- have you looked at my history? Have you seen how low my BP has been, read the notes (clearly not!) that I passed out twice? See that we are struggling weigh sugar numbers? And yeah... "Oh you have a pacemaker? Guess you can't be around microwaves" comment you throw out at EVERY apt is getting REALLY old and annoying. Not just this issue or any one thing... I just can't stand this guy. I actually asked not to see him anymore my last pregnancy. Problem is other two high risk drs whom I love only see patients till 2:30. This time I can't leave work early every other week (downside of a new principal). Can't wait for summer when I can see who I want. Thank god for my regular OB who keeps me sane!
Hi everyone, Ive recently become high risk so Id like to join.
I have gestational diabetes which concerns them seeing it was found so early. So far baby seems to be doing well. Had a check up with regular OB yesterday. She found the baby's heartbeat right under my belly button
My sugars have been good, I have to check my blood 4 times a day.
I have to go in for a lab to check protien in my blood and a 24 hr urine test. I guess when you have gestational diabetes it puts you at risk for pre -e . She said she doesnt expect me to have it seeing my BP has been great, but I am at risk.
I see the MFM once a week now, and they will do fetal echocardiograms and a growth ultrasound once a month. I have it scheduled next week. We'll see how we are doing.
