Pregnant after IF

How long between your last RE and first OB appt?

I was released on Tuesday from my RE after being there since August and getting two ultrasounds a week since I got my BFP (I had two bouts of very bad bleeding).  He told me I had to make my OB appt for 2 weeks from my release.  My appt is Monday April 21 but that feels like so far away.  How long did you have to wait?  How did you keep yourself sane during the wait?

Re: How long between your last RE and first OB appt?

  • I haven't been released from my RE yet (she sees you through your entire first trimester), but she told me I need to make my appointment for 2 weeks after my last appointment with her. I've been going every other week though since 6 weeks, so it won't be much of a change waiting the 2 weeks to see the OB.

I hope the time flies for you from now until the 21st!

  • I had to wait about two weeks. My OB squeezed me in at about 11 weeks since I was released at 9. It was hard waiting, but it was even HARDER when I had to wait 4 weeks in between OB appointments, especially after weekly or biweekly appointments with my RE. Try to stay busy...that's the only thing that helped. That and I would schedule my nuchal or A/S on "off" weeks so I could get my bimonthly appointments in... if that makes any sense.

  • Mine was suppose to be two weeks - I was suppose to grad last week but never got a chance to see the RE and saw the nurse instead. However, they wanted my final check with him, so I got an extra visit with the RE and now only have to wait a week to see the Ob. I'm nervous from going to once a week to once a month. The weekly check ups have been reassuring.

  • I had one week between my last RE appt at 9w and OB at 10w b/c my RE wanted to do one last u/s herself. The 7w and 8w u/s were done by the NP.

The OB practice wanted the initial visit between weeks 10-12.

Next OB appt is at 15w. I'm managing by doing blood work and the NT scan in between so it feels like something is happening.

  • I was released from the RE at 8w after our second u/s and I saw the OB at 10w. I do not get ultrasounds at the OB like I did at the REs. The other big change is that my OB appointments are 4 weeks apart until the 3rd Tri.

    ALL WELCOME :)
  • For me my last RE appt was at 7 weeks and was told to make an appt with my OB 1 1/2 to 2 weeks after. I saw an OB but hated the office so I found another one. Didn't see LO until 12 week ultrasound. I see my OB every 4 weeks until 28 weeks then it goes to every other week until 36 weeks then once a week. I bought a home doppler and that has helped me confirm that everything is going well. Oh and from what I understand I will only have 2 more ultrasounds, one at 20 weeks and one at 32 (I think). I am anxious to be feeling LO kicking me as a confirmation that all is going well. Good luck to you!

  • After embryo transfer I saw my REs staff for two blood draws and then he did my first ultrasound at 6w3d and released me. He said when I saw my OB was up to her and her office policy is first appointment at 7-8 weeks so I did mine at 8 weeks exactly because that's what was available.

  • I was discharged by the RE after seeing the heartbeat on ultrasound at 6 wks 3 days. My first midwife appt. was one week later. I was surprised they considered me low enough risk to go to the midwife, so that was great!
  • My RE discharged me after seeing LO at 6w1d.... I had my intake interview with the nurse at the ob/gyn yesterday on the phone... to which she said "ok I will give your info to the docs and as long as they don't think your high risk we will set up your first appt at that time".... So now i'm stuck waiting, ugh! Hopefully it won't take too long.
