Parenting after a Loss

NBR: uhg, spring cleaning

Anyone else greatly avoiding their spring cleaning activities?

We just moved and I feel like I still have a ton of boxes to go through. I do know I have empty boxes ready to fill for the garage sale we are having next month. That will feel so good to declutter!

  • I might consider taking a day off of work in order to clean my house! It gets pretty hard to keep up LOL

We just moved last weekend and got ride of a bunch of stuff before we moved. So no spring cleaning here. After cleaning our old place it really motivated me to be better about deep cleaning more often. I found birth announcements and save the dates from 3 years ago! They were living on top of the fridge with about 6 inches of dust. I was also a little grossed out with all the crap under our couch. My mom isn't super clean so I never really learned how to deep clean. I've actually started a list of things I want to start doing regularly.
We did this too, but apparently not enough....booooo.

And yes @dmalone1024, it totally counts!

I have been trying to go room by room and REALLY cleaning. It just feels like by the time I get to the next room, I go back to the room I *just* cleaned and someone- DS, DH, or my brother- have already messed it up already. It's so frustrating because it feels like I'm the only one who cares if the house gets cleaned.

To make myself feel better, I just watch an episode or two of Hoarders, and then I feel MUCH better about the state of my house!!! I highly recommend this as a therapeutic activity!

  • Spring cleaning was much easier last year...when DS was only 4 months old and didn't really move much. Now I put things away and he helps by getting it back out again...and repeat.

I actually enjoy spring cleaning! I have made my list for this year but I haven't gotten much done yet. I'm just ending a semester at school (last exam tonight!) and that plus an infant equals not much time for cleaning. I have started to do some purging already. I know that I won't be able to just pick a day and wash everything like usual so I will most likely deep clean one room at a time. I do this a few times a year so it doesn't get too bad but it still needs to be done!
