Anti depressants

Anyone have any experience with antidepressants? I just started taking Wellbutrin. My dr suggested I can try them and only sees me being on them for a short time, 6 months or so.

I'm just worried about the side effects. It's only been a few days, and I know it takes a couple weeks to fully adjust to them, but it's going good so far. My only complaint is that they keep me awake at night and I never had trouble sleeping before. I told the dr and he now has me taking melatonin everynight ( sleep aide). I really don't like the idea of taking another pill just to curb the side effect of another pill. Can anyone share their experience with antidepressants? Did they help? How was it just staring them out? Any advice is appreciated :)

    Mine was years and years ago too and I was on Paxil. I honestly never noticed a difference except for the weight gain. I gained like 30 pounds in a matter of months and it was awful. I think I only stayed on the Paxil for a few months.

    I am late to post, but I took Wellbutrin for a few years. I too had trouble sleeping at first. I took the lowest dose and took it by noon to help with sleeping later. The major side effects were no sex drive, weight loss and jaw problems. It made me clench my jaw terribly to the point of needing surgery (which I decided against). So just be aware of that and let your MD know of any other things that don't subside after a couple of months. Other than that, it helped me tremendously.
