UPDATE: Friend's baby needs heart transplant

Some of you may remember my post from a few weeks ago that my friend's 2 month old baby needs a heart transplant. I was going to update that post but I think it is too old to edit.

Baby Juniper was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy at two weeks old and has been on the heart transplant list for 33 days. Today, as she was undergoing surgery to implant a Berlin Heart, a donor heart became available! The doctors stopped the surgery (which was just getting started) and sent her back to her family. She will have the transplant surgery later today.

I want to thank everyone here who sent a prayer her way over the last month. She will need some more prayers, meditations, and good thoughts sent her way to get through this big step today. You can follow her story here.

what amazing news. A former classmate of mine had a daughter who needed a heart transplant they relied on the berlin heart for quite some time before having a successful heart transplant I hope all goes well!

That's amazing they found a donor heart. Our friend's little boy has a congenital heart defect. It's terrible to see teeny babies have to go through surgery but glad it's looking like a good outcome.

Thank you everyone for the kind words for Baby Juniper! Sadly, it was discovered early this morning that the donor heart is not viable for transplant. Her wait continues.
