I was on hospital bed rest for a few days but was sent home on bed rest over the weekend. To be honest, for me it was easier being on bed rest in the hospital because I got so many visitors and the nurses kept me company. Now that I am home, I am so lonely when my husband goes to work. I hate being so isolated. I actually miss the conveniences of being able to order room service for meals, snacks, and drinks. I miss having the nurses to talk to you as well.
I would say to just try to relax as much as possible. Get a good book, or get netflix. What really helped me was making a "to-do list" of things that I could do each day and they are all different. I also do not spend all day reading or all day watching TV. I try to mix it up. I also text and skype family and friends. Try talking to the nurses about interests or hobbies. Maybe take up digital scrapbooking. There are so many things you can do to keep yourself occupied. You just need to find what works for you.
It is still really hard, but I keep thinking that this is all worth it. Another Bumpie told me that for every day your baby stays put, it saves them two days in the NICU. I think that really helped me a lot, so I hope that helps you as well. Good luck!
I was on hospital bed rest for 2 weeks because of cord flow issues.
Find something to occupy your time. I knit a blanket for DS while I was in the hospital, and I watched basically the whole series of friends. DH visited every day and I had friends or family in every other day(at least!)
Im sorry that your in the hospital:( Try to think of it's the best place thought to keep you and babies safe! I've been watching the series Call the Midwife on netflix during my bed rest.

I got hooked on that show and watched it in 2 days. So good!
I was in hospital bed rest for 3 days then sent home. I hate the hospital but I had a lot of help from my parents at home. Try to stay idilly busy. Like start a tv series or play games on your phone. Dh and I played monopoly and risk on his iPad.
I actually got discharged a few days ago thank goodness but my doctor said to keep a bag packed because I'll be back there again eventually. I think he could tell I wasn't handling it well and I was basically on the same type of bedrest there that I could do at home so there wasn't much point in keeping me there. I have a short cervix but no labor signs, which they monitored me for the whole week I was there so it really made no sense. Thankfully I did get steroid shots for the babies just in case while there. I'm dreading going back.
@trs48 good to hear your home. It's just nice to be at your house with your things I'm sure. I've been on modified since 21 weeks and baby is definitely growing now. Doctor was discussing steroid shots with me last time and I think it would help put me at ease. Apt. Is Thursday. So we will see. Hose big are babies measuring?

@amwenz thank you! It's sooo nice to be home. The hospital bedrest makes me never want to complain about home bedrest ever again. The steriod shots weren't bad at all. They even said it would sting slightly but I felt nothing different from a normal shot. Good luck at your appt! Last measurement we got of the boys was about a week & a half ago at 23 wks 5 days (right before I got sent to the hospital) and one was 1lb 9 oz & the other was 1 lb 10 oz. I'm dying to know how big they are now though. How about yours?

Hospital bedrest has got to be boring, but the upside is you have nurses to constantly check on you and wait on you.
Yes for every day the baby is inside it saves them two days in the NICU.
Our bellies are better for our babies than any NICU. Unless there is obviously pre eclampsia or something causing damage to the baby and/or mother.
