8week doc's appt

Holy hell, that sucked!

THREE shots today :( it was terrible. Cam turned bright red and screamed, crying. He stopped crying after a minute...I did not.
DH nervous laughed, I cried.

Brace yourself, ladies. It's NOT a fun doc's appointment.

BUT - Cam is 11lb9oz, 23inches tall! My little man is growing up so fast!!!
AND he's holding his head up at a 4month level. Yaaayyy tummy time!

Seriously though, mentally prepare yourselves. I knew he was getting shots today but didn't realize how devastating it would be for us...

(Pic is post appointment...he passed out right after I took this)

  • I'm scared :((

  • DD had hers earlier this week. It was rough, more so for me than her.

I do recommend everyone have some infant Tylenol at home just in case. She was unhappy and quite fussy for several hours afterwards so I gave her a little Tylenol and it really helped.

  • Dd would stop breathing when she got shots. She would open her mouth like she was going to start crying then...nothing....no crying, no screaming, and no breathing. Then she would turn purple for a few seconds then finally cry for about 5 seconds. Then boom back to normal. The nurses always said how bizarre it was! Not sure how your lo will react but dd always slept like a dream for about 36 hours after shots. I always planned to do a bunch of errands the day after shots because she would stay asleep for so long.
  • Please note i love it because he is getting so big and doing so well!

And now i am terrified of getting shots!

  • I've seen so much when Sloan got admitted back to the hospital. I almost stayed in the room when they did the spinal tap. Thankfully I didn't.

Ah! Poor baby :( I'm sorry Sloan had to go through that @BethRN1987‌

The best was when they asked which one of us would be holding Cam's hands/arms down so they didn't end up near his thighs, where the shots went. Obviously, I didn't do that job....I rubbed his head and tried to distract him...terrible

It's one of those things that needs to be done but boy, does it suck!
You'll all have to let me know how you do when your LO's time comes...
  • I'm really not looking forward to the boys 8 week shots. Luckily their appointment is on a Friday, so they'll have the weekend to recover
