Night terrors or Wild sleeper

Lately my LO has been waking herself up by hitting her head on the sides of the crib. It is a full size crib with breathable mesh bumpers only. How do I know if she's just moves alot in her sleep or is having nightmares?

Re: Night terrors or Wild sleeper

  • Only way I knew DD1 was having night terrors was when she woke up screaming.  And continued to while looking at me like I was a complete stranger.  Hated those.  Glad they didnt happen often, well at least to that degree.  She still gets very vivid bad dreams.

  • Is LO totally awake when you get her? Mine had a streak of what I think were night terrors a few months ago. He was crying in his sleep, but not really awake. When I got him from his crib I had to actually wake him up, because he was still dreaming/sleeping.
  • Update: LO had her 9 month appointment today. Doctor said it's normal to keep waking especially if she is still nursing and she's probably just a little mover when she sleeps. :)
  • Night terrors are usually (in our experience) complete panic & spazz while hyperventilating. Usually if you have to ask it's not a night terror.
