My next appointment is Monday so I will be asking my OB then. However, I was wondering, for those that are having a RCS, do you already have it scheduled?

Also I can't remember if my OB said they won't let me go past 39 weeks for a RCS or if it must be done at 39 weeks.

Last question, since you are able to schedule it, what are your thoughts on a 4rth of July date? I wonder if LO will mind having a birthday on a holiday.

We've talked about scheduling it. As soon as we can we will and she's said she is 99% it will be on July 11th, which will allow DH take more time off once we are out of the hospital!

My OB won't schedule my RCS until like 34-36 weeks, I think. But they said it would be around 39 weeks (39 weeks falls on a Saturday for me, so they said I could do the Friday or Monday). That would be around June 23rd. Obviously if I went into labor before 39 weeks, they would just do the c-section then.

I guess I personally wouldn't choose July 4th, because if it were me, I'd want my birthday to not fall on a holiday. But it's not like Christmas or something so if it ends up being the 4th it's not a bad holiday to have on your birthday.

No RCS for me but chiming in on July 4th, my DS is a firecracker baby. It's not so bad but he's only 2 so I have yet to see what he thinks of it when he gets older! I'm just hoping this LO doesn't come on the fourth too haha

Not technically scheduled, but she induced my last one on a Wednesday, so I just picked the Wednesday before my Sunday due date as my "go day" and she'll probably go for that when it is time schedule if she doesn't have anything going on and if I make it to that day.

Just a side note, I really wanted a July 3rd due date. It was my great-grandmothers birthday and the day my mom passed away last year. I thought it would be nice to have the baby that day. Alas... I got pregnant a month late and ended up with an Aug 3rd due date.

I'm hoping for a vbac, but at the moment it's looking less likely. I've been told I can wait up until a week before to schedule it, but I would avoid July 4th. With a RCS I won't be in the ER or anything having to be around the crazy people who got shot with a roman candle or anything, but it is a holiday and I don't know how a hospital tries to staff L&D over holidays. We're most likely going to end up with an end of June date for this one.

Mine will be during the 39th week. Currently I'm planning on requesting July 3rd (so DH has an extra day with off with us) or July 7/8/9 so we can do all the holiday activities with DD. Part of my decision will also have to do with who is doing surgeries on a given day.

I'm gonna talk to my doc on Monday about when we can schedule. See if I can get a tentative date out of him. Both DH and I have bosses asking "well?? When is it??" My SIL was induced on July 3rd and had hers by CS on July 4th.

Due july 31st but scheduled july 25th at the lastest. My first was a vaginal birth but the last 2 were emergency c-sections so my Dr says to not hold on to hope of going until the 25th. My last babies were born a couple of werks early. She planned it for that day but the hospital only less you schedule 8 weeks in advance so she will put it in asap when she's allowed.

another great point, I am currently seeing all 5 OBs at my doctor's office and any of the 5 can be the one to perfomr the RCS. I like them all, but I am partial to 2 so thanks for bringing that up.

I'm guessing our date will be July 22nd. I'll be 39 weeks exactly, and its a Tuesday, which is one of his on-call days at the hospital.

I just talked to my OB's surgery scheduler today. I am due 7/9 so the earliest they'd let us do it is 7/3. She basically gave me the choice of Th 7/3, Sat 7/5, or Mon 7/7. No surgeries scheduled on holidays or Sundays apparently. I chose 7/5 because that's the day my favorite doc is working; just waiting for them to call back and confirm.

My doctor will not perform them before 39 weeks unless there is a medical reason. For me, 39 weeks falls on Saturday (they do not schedule them on weekends) so it will most likely be scheduled for Monday, July 21 at 39w2d. I believe they will schedule it at my next appointment, 28 weeks.

I have an appt on Wednesday but it's with an NP not my OB. I'll ask about a date but doubt it'll get scheduled.

Mine schedules them for the 39th week. She scheduled it at my last appt, I was 27 weeks. I wouldn't schedule for many of the reasons @Luckynumbers81‌ mentioned but also because most practice docs have it off so I would get who is ever on call.

As PPs mentioned, RCS are scheduled in the 39th week (for singletons anyway) Mine is Monday 23rd June @ 8am with my EDD actually being the 30th. I actually think my EDD is July 6th as I know I ovulated late, and all my u/s measurements are 1 week off, but like many OBs, he won't look at my temp chart, so I think baby will only be 38w along.
