Hi! Our expectant mom is about 34 weeks along and hasn't gone to the doctor since the end of February. She makes appointments but doesn't them.
1- how important for the baby's health is it for her to be going? Her records indicate a healthy baby and pregnancy thus far. (Might sound silly but never being pregnant myself and hearing from others who have been, I hear that most of the time it's a quick visit and can be a waste of time).
2- do you think that this lack of going to the doctors means that she really hasn't formed an attachment to the baby, which in the case of adoption isn't necessarily a bad thing or because this is not her first birth, she feels no need to go as much.
3- what was or has been your experience with your birth/ expectant mom and doctor appointments.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Expectant mom and doctor appointments
Anyone else have thoughts????
1-It's important for all the reasons that IDigDirt mentioned. Plus they'll check her BP to make sure she doesn't have issues there
2-I think you're reading too much into what her reasoning or mindset might be. There could be a million reasons she's not going
3-we have zero experience. DD's birthmom didn't know she was pg, and had no prenatal care or dr visits
