First off I want to apologize for not posting a discussion since October, I hadn't realized it had been so long. I noticed it when I finally got on my computer to update my siggy. Sometimes it's just too hard to keep up with you ladies. But now I am on mobile so I will do better!
Anyway, I am having a bad bad day. My day started at midnight being woken up by crazy donkey lady. As some of you know I am an ambulatory equine vet, and I was on call last night. So after finally getting to sleep around 11, donkey lady called to tell me her donkey wasn't eating, but by the time I called her back 5 minutes later, he was eating fine and didn't need me tonight. This turned into a 15 minute conversation. I learned that "Cochise" prefers his lime green bucket to his pink one. I kid you not, at midnight.
Then DD woke up with a fever, and had a big cry about not being able to go to school.
Then an 80 year old woman "didn't see me" as I was driving my big Suburban going 40, and pulled out into me as she was trying to turn left from her street. I tried to swerve in front of her and hoped she would see me and stop driving, but she didn't, and we smashed pretty bad. I ended up crashing on the side of the road in a shallow ditch. It happened so fast I didn't have time to be scared, but afterward I freaked out, I'm still freaking out. I am fine, just a few aches and pains, but my truck is not, it might be totaled. Thank god that I didn't have the kids with me. I have this big vet box that is screwed into the frame of my truck that came undone and slammed forward into the second row seat (the third row is removed), which is where the car seats were hooked up. Ian's seat was tipped up in the back, about two inches, and Ivy's seat looked the same to me, but I keep thinking, what if my accident was worse, and they were with me, they could have gotten seriously hurt with that box being in there. I thought I had it secured correctly, but I guess not, So yeah I am freaked and I need to rethink my whole set up now.
The officer at the scene told me I didn't need to replace my car seats because there were no kids in there, but I am not sure, they did get jammed from behind, by how much force though I am not sure. We literally just installed Ian's new Britax last week. I would like not to have to replace it, but I am not sure. I need to discuss with DH, but what say you ladies? Should I replace my car seats?
Re: Car Accident
I think the seats need to be replaced.
The worst part of the accident was I lost all my coffee this morning. I had only had a few sips.
Now the dog is puking, great.
