Recommend Your Tricycle

in Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

DS's 2nd birthday is in June and we want to get him a tricycle, but we don't know where to start. We are interested in the red, Radioflyer, but I've also heard good things about a few other brands/styles. Any advice on what some of you have gotten your LO's and how they like it would be greatly appreciated!

    We bought the Schwinn push version for DD https://www.walmart.com/ip/Schwinn-Easy-Steer-Trike/12172472 It is great b/c we could steer and push when she was younger and back off as she got older. We took the handle off and used it as a regular tricyle once she was ready. It has held up great and gone for numerous mile+ walks. DS is now using it as the push trike. I would highly recommend it.

    I really like this! I don't know that LO will be ready to ride on his own just yet, so I like the idea of pushing him and then letting it grow with him until he's ready to ride. Thanks a lot ladies!!

    Get one with a handle!

    My mother gave DD a tricycle, but she can't figure out how to push the pedals.  So she sits on it and wants us to push her.    My back will never recover!

    Hope that works...I'm on my phone and can't hyperlink. It can start out as a rocker, then push trike, then tricycle. He loves it and just from having it in our basement this winter he's gotten really good at steering it and is getting the hang of the pedals (he's 21 months).     I just got the Radio Flyer 4in 1. He can't pedal yet, so I can push him, and it has a seat belt. Later, he can ride it himself. He got the plastic Radio Flyer tricycle for Christmas but can't pedal so right now it's kind of useless. Although he loves putting stuff in and out of the trunk ;)
