One & Done: Only child

WWYD

So on the corner of our house we use to have a large/tall spruce tree. When we bought our house the owners put in a sump pump in the basement that flows out to the street. In doing so they damaged the roots to the tree and we had to cut it down. Now i have an open bare spot and DH is really against planting anything there (in ways of a bush/tree). I was thinking birdbath, mulch, flowers? WWYD?

Re: WWYD

  • Bird baths are lovely, but I'd be too lazy to keep on top of that. My parents have one that is usually filled with stagnant rain water. Or dry.

What about a large earthen pot to put a small tree or a bunch of flowers in?

Oh I just meant a big flower pot. Like terra cotta or something. Although you might want to look up how they do in cold weather.

OMG that would kind of be perfect!! That corner of the house is facing the neighbor who blocked our dogs in the garage!! LMAO i would write "KISS IT" in big black letters :)
  • How tall is the stump?   Turn it into a little table for LO to play on?  If there's grass around, maybe have it taken all the way out and plant grass?  Or maybe a little grove of perennial flowers?

Well we have shrubbery in the front of the house and then my rose bushes on the side of the house. Its all got landscaping bricks around it. Where the tree use to be the bricks are in a half circle shape. DH cut the stump to the ground but doesn't really want to dig it out. So right now is just mud/dirt and some random weeds. <-- i know your jealous of my attractive yard LOL
