Massage or Facial

So apparently when you let your husband do things he wants to do, while you bust your ass, it is recognized... DH bought me a groupon for a mania/pedi and either a massage or a facial. I could really use both! Which one would you choose or could you go for right about now?
Also I'd just like to note its been at least a year since I've had any of these done, so it is quite a treat!

Re: Massage or Facial

  • Could you somehow make a day of it and pay an extra upgrade fee and do both?

I did vote for massage, because right now, I know my body aches at the end of the day, and my back/shoulders need a rub down way more than my face needs to be rubbed.

  • @GlitterMuffin914‌ I was thinking about that! However, DH scheduled it for me to go on his birthday since he took the day off and can spend time with the kids while I went... I feel really weird about it but he insists. I'll probably just stick with the massage. I am so tight and sore in my neck, back and shoulders. I think that's bothering more than my face (that sounds funny).

  • I don't like people touching my face.
  • Do you ladies think a facial could help with hormonal acne!? That's really one of the only reasons I was considering the facial?

I've been wondering that too. My face has been really oily lately, but there's also a patch that's über dry and flakey.

  • I like mani/pedis, but I generally don't like people touching me. I wouldn't accept a free massage. I'm not sure what happens at a facial. I've never been to a spa, just a nail salon. I'm not sure if be a good candidate though.

  • Hard decision. I always choose the facial because it has more long lasting effects than a massage. Your husband could give you a massage himself, a facial should be done by a professional.

  • I picked massage- had them, love them, wish I could have a masseuse on call at my house.

However, I've only had one facial, which was part of a massage package so the entire treatment was long (like full body massage, then a little scalp massage, then a facial, etc). By the time she put some gunk on my face and left to let it sit for awhile (it felt great, btw!), I realized I really needed to pee. And I wasn't sure what the protocol was for going to find a bathroom while she was out of the room. So I waited. I thought I was going to explode. That's my only experience with a facial. I'd be up for trying another one, but at the moment I could really just vote for massage.

  • A massage sounds delightful so that was my vote! Either way, enjoy the pampering :-)
