Growing out of maternity clothes??

How is this even possible? Please tell me I'm not the only one. Still have 6 weeks left and don't want to buy more.

Re: Growing out of maternity clothes??

  • I'm with ya! I have 6 more weeks to go as well and my pants are getting so uncomfortable BUT I really don't want to buy any more maternity clothes. I like the above idea, maybe dresses are the way to go.

  • Yes! I am not buying any more, but all my shirts feel too short! This must be why I remember living in dresses (more like moo-moos) at the end of my first pregnancy!

  • Yeah my clothes don't fit at all I'm just making due I have over 6 weeks left and feel like a house

  • I'm wearing maxi skirts to work everyday now. Pants are too tight and uncomfortable. Luckily some shirts haven't gotten too short. Target's $10 maternity shirts seem to be working for me.

  • I'm having the same problem. My issue is more that everything is short. I pull my shirt down to cover my belly or belly band on jeans. When I pull it down my boobs are coming out! Everything is getting pretty tight, too. With 6 more weeks to go I'm not sure how I'm gonna do it.
  • I wish someone had seen me trying to dance into my jeans this morning. With DH out of town no one is here to help me. It's pretty comical.
  • Yep! I have 3 weeks left so I'm just making things work.

  • My shirts which used to be long are now short and the bottom of my belly shows.  The bottoms used to fit over my stomach now, sit under.  I live in dresses and maxi skirts and even the dresses are getting tight in the chest area cause my chest has grown.  This sucks! Good thing next week is my last week of work.  I'm just going to lounge around my house in undies and a tank top and not care if my belly protrudes out from the hem of my tank.
  • I basically live in one pair of leggings and had to buy 2 new shirts to cover my belly

  • Yeah, and I work in an office where I'm *supposed* to look presentable. I'm just trying to make do as well.

  • Yeah I have 6 weeks left and my shirts are short and some of my pants are right. I refuse to buy anything new. I will resort to wearing my maxi dresses and leggings at all times.
  • Yes to all of the above. I have 6 and half weeks left and had to buy new scrub pants Monday. I outgrew the maternity larges. Had to bump it up to maternity XL. Pants are just uncomfortable in general. Maxi skirts and dresses are the way to go.

  • Yes! Glad to know I am not the only one! I refuse to buy more clothes and have resorted to mostly dresses and layering tank tops under every single shirt. Pulling the shirt down just makes my boobs pop out the too also, never thought I would have that problem in life!
  • Back to yoga pant and dresses for me. Jeans and pants are no longer comfortable and I still have 7 weeks to go.
  • It's possible - I'm down to two pairs of work pants, two dresses and two pairs of leggings (one that has some holes in the seams of the crotch) that still fit. Tops? I have 4 that are big enough to cover my stomach.

Thankfully I only have four days of work left and then I can wear my leggings and the same four shirts over and over until baby comes. I'm not buying anything else at this point.
  • This happened to me with my son so fortunately I was expecting it and tried to prepare. I will be living in maxi skirts and tunic type shirts. Target has some basic tees that are super long and perfect for this last stretch, they come in black, white, purple/white stripe and black/gray stripe. That might be a cheap option for you if you need to buy something.

  • Ditto to all of the above. I have gone up a size in maternity clothes and even then I only have a few shirts left that cover my belly because he is getting so big! I'm worried about what I'm going to be able to wear the next 5.5 weeks, because I don't want to go out and buy more with that little time left. I'm glad I'm not alone!

  • I'm starting to outgrow a lot of my shirts. I don't currently work so luckily I can just wear baggy shirts and sweats while at home. I've been digging through DHs clothes to make due :)
  • Yes, my work wardrobe is getting smaller and smaller. Some of the dresses that were cute at 30 weeks are now inappropriately tight. :( I think I might have to start wearing T shirts under my blazer because other shirts don't fit.

  • ooooh yeah.  Happened last time as well.  Had to buy shirts in a larger size.  Thankfully my pants were okay.

  • It also doesn't help that all the shirts that still fit me are sweaters and colder-weather clothes. Now that it is finally warm I have about 3 shirts that are work appropriate. Guess my coworkers and patients will have to get used to seeing the same clothes every week.

I am to that extra sexy point where a good inch or two of belly is exposed where I have outgrown my maternity shirts. I broke the button off one I have only worn once. 4 weeks. Joy.

I have 3 weeks left, just wearing the four items of clothing or so that still fit, on top if size it has also turned much warmer here which usually I'd be siked about but cuts my wadrobe down even smaller. Side note on above mentioned Target T-shirts, I have two and my belly now hangs out of the bottom since I dropped.
  • Yep I am right there with you! My pants sit funny on my belly and my shirts are getting short. Just 9 more days of work to get through and I will live in yoga pants.

  • Yep. My belly hangs out the bottom of a lot of my mat tops now and the midwife said the waistband on my jeans felt a little right yesterday. I'm measuring a week small too, so it must be a man who designs these clothes.

  • Many of my shirts are too short now but I'm probably just going to try and ride it out. I already had to buy new pants at around 25 weeks when my hips first had their big growth spurt so I'm definitely not buying more pants! I have a few pairs of capris from a friend that fit but it hasn't quite been warm enough yet.

  • I really didn't want to, but I just ordered a couple more mat maxi dresses and two pairs of shorts for the summer. They should still fit PP and hopefully will get me through the summer because lord knows none of my pre-preg shorts or skirts will fit over my thighs. I'm so tired of buying clothes that don't make me feel good!

  • Last pregnancy I ended up buying some more staples at 6-8 weeks out. You're only going to get bigger/more uncomfortable from here. It was sooooo worth it, IMO!

  • The Cartwheel Target app has maternity t-shirts on sale at 40% off until Saturday...I went yesterday and it had all pretty much been picked over but I got a couple of shirts to hold me over for the next few weeks...people at work are just going to have to be understanding of the fact that I'm wearing the same shirts every week....but I promise they will be clean! :)
  • This is the shirt at Target I was talking about. So far I have only found white on their website, but I know in store they have black, white, black/gray stripe, and purple/white stripe. They are VERY soft and they are tunic style so they definitely cover the whole belly. Totally worth the money.

I also bought a couple maxi skirts in the normal sizes section in a size bigger than what I normally wear and they will be good for the rest of this pregnancy and also PP. Got this one in black: https://www.target.com/p/merona-women-s-knit-maxi-skirt/-/A-15063058#prodSlot=medium_1_1

    And this one in blue:

  • I have given up and taken to wearing DH's shirts.  Yes, I look like a bum.  Oh well.
