Throwing fits

Ay de mi, is she really doing this already? So little yet so much sass! If I take something away from her that I don't want her to play with (my phone, the remote, toilet paper from the roll, etc.) she throws the biggest fit! Please tell me this is totally normal and she'll grow out of it (haha!). Any other suggestions besides just ignoring her when she does it?

Same here. Especially remotes. I try to just replace it. I don't think there's anything to do but ignore it.

I try to replace it but she doesn't want what I have and starts looking for what I took away! I don't ever yell at her and I try to use "no" sparingly (unless she's doing something unsafe). Glad to know I'm not alone

Oh god the fits! Ever since she could stand by herself she will stomp in place and then throw herself onto the floor. I don't know how I'll survive toddlerhood.

@sctiger Another dog water bowl lover here, too! One day there was a little piece of dog food that she found next to the bowl. I saw her chewing on something and got it out of her mouth and you would think the world had ended! SHEESH!

Last time I let her play with the water in the bowl and hold the food. Sometimes I just give up, and let her explore. Today she opened the DVD player, and turned off the cable and such. She eventually got over it and came back to her toys.
But she has the biggest fit when I put her in the car seat. Mainly if she is hungry at all.

Lily gets really whiny and such. I found that she will stop when the camera on my phone is on. The flash is what gets her attention. So, I turn the flashlight on. She stops. Problem now, she wants to see the video. 8-|

I've thought about this too but with phones/remotes. I gave her an old remote and she is totally uninterested in it. I thought about giving her an old phone, but then I wonder if she still thinks it's okay to play with them. Who knows!

Well...I just had to replace my work phone because I was letting her play with it...I think she got some slobber in it. Luckily they covered it. Then yesterday my regular phone started doing the same thing and I now have to get a new one. No more phones for her!

So far (and I am sure this won't be true for much longer), Alex really seems to throw a fit if there's something else he needs too - like if he's hungry, thirsty, or tired. I try to distract him, but if that doesn't work, it's usually time for a snack, sippy cup, or nap.

Second child syndrome over here. Ty generally doesn't freak out because Bradley is throwing a bigger tantrum. If something is really bugging him I usually tell him to calm down and get over it or that he is being dramatic

With Bradley I used "be careful" a lot instead of no. He is an extremely cautious child as a result

Another dog food/water bowl lover here. If I'm not quick enough she gets elbow deep in that bowl pretty fast and makes one heck of a mess! I've even moved the dogs feeding station to a barely used part of the house that she cannot see from the main rooms where we play. But turn your head for one second and she cruises on down the short hallway to our entryway straight to their dishes.

I've been lucky up until now that she doesn't normally throw a tantrum when I try to redirect her from things like this, although she is extremely persistent and doesn't give it up. She has, however, recently learned to scream when she wants something or isn't getting her way. It's awful, and I'm really trying to nip it in the bud right away. She will shriek the moment she runs out of food on her highchair tray, or if she is "done" with riding in her stroller. Obviously she can't communicate what she wants in words yet, but I keep telling her to use her words then I say "may I have some more strawberries please", or whatever it is that I'm guessing the shriek was about.
