Low HCG levels?

I got my blood results today and have to go in for more tests.  My HCG was only at 53 and I think I should be about 5 weeks so it should be higher.  They said it was really low and would only make me at 2 weeks. But that my progesterone was high so that was good.  Has anyone else had low hcg but had a normal pregnancy?

    That would be two weeks gestational age, 4 weeks pregnant. At 4 weeks mine was 61, two days later 120. The doubling time is what really matters not necessarily the starting number. GL!

    i assume your dr meant 2 weeks fetal age - which, if you are 5 wks on your ticker, than you are about 3 weeks fetal age. are you positive that you know when you ovulated?

    I'm there with ya.  Mine was only 25 last Monday at 16 dpo.  I went in for another blood test today and I'll get the results in the morning.

    Did you chart by any chance?  Maybe you are off in terms of how far along you are.  My first HCG level was very low 33...and that was at 3 weeks 4 days.  What's most important is if it doubles every 48 hours or so.  Take a look at www.betabase.info it is very helpful!!  GL!!! :)

    I'm not absolutely positive on when I was ovulating, My lmp would be Nov 18 and I'm usually about 28 to 30 days so I did 30 just to be safe.  I had a blighted ovum in April 2007 so I'm worried I will m/c again.

    Mine were low at right before 4 weeks.  My first test read 10.1 and my second was 51.  The third was 425 only three days later.  As long as they are going up, it's GOOD.  They have to start somewhere right?

    My new tests are in!  My hcg jumped to 1400!  I have my first u/s on Jan 6!  Thanks everyone for the comments
