Birthday Parties

Am I Missing Anything?

There is a beach and children's park right near the house, so since DS's birthday is in the beginning of June we have decided to throw him a little party there. We want to keep it cost-effective, so we're doing hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and fruit platters- of course the cake for adults, and cupcakes for the kids. The theme is Sesame Street and I saw some cute ideas on Pinterest as far as grouping the fruit into the faces of the monsters (for example, using blueberries and making it look like cookie monster). Instead of goody bags, I was planning to go to the Dollar Store and buy a beach-themed gift, like a boogie board, and let the kids take that home instead. Does anyone have any extra ideas or inputs on what I can add to the food menu, what I could do for drinks, ect? Thanks in advance!

Sounds great so far. Not too much, but just enough. I like that you are doing a beach themed gift rather than goody bags. The parents will thank you for that!

I did Honest Kids juice boxes (very low sugar) and bottled water for people at our party. Beer and wine for adults that wanted it but we were at my house so that was easy to offer. I think just offering the main food like burgers and dogs plus some fruit is great. If you wanted to add one other thing, maybe chips and dip OR a veggie platter.

Thank you!! I didn't think of chips, I will definitely add that to the menu. All of this will be bought at Costco so there should be plenty. Hopefully they will have the juice boxes there too.
