Adding to our family!!!!

.......and its puppy! LOL.

 

We have a dog now but he is older (my dog since before DS was born and very attached to me).  I absolutely adore dogs and would have a houseful but DH does not like pets in general.  But one of the possibly aids for DS with his anxiety is a companion  dog and DH brought this to me and is super keen to pursue this.  Soooooo excited and have several possibilities in play but must restrain myself as the dog has to bond with DS and he has to be really involved in the training, etc.  Yipee!

    OMG congrats. 

    I am a huge animal lover - dogs especially.  If circumstances allowed, I would have more than the one doggy we have now because she is such a joy.

    In terms of type we are looking for small to medium, not prone to yapping or nipping and forms a strong bond with its owner. So we looking terrier/terrier mix, maltese, havanese, king charles cavalier (what we have now). In terms of availbility and which ones DS seemed to like it is the havanese and the cavalier. Advatages of the havanese are less health problems and longer life span and possibly more active, sheds less and "hypo allegetic", also a consideration is having something different, the cavalier that is available is even the same colouring, lol. Advantages of the cavalier is that we know the breed and by far the best breed I have owned, been around and I have met others with similar temperment, easier to train/house train, less expensive and available sooner. Any experience with the havenese from the board?

    I have not heard of a puggle. Just looked them up, omg.....too cute. I have never seen them around here.
